I wasn't your favorite
I was just the one you ran to when your favorite wasn't around
She was somewhere with another guy and that same guy had another girl on his mind
We all seem to want the one who isn't pursuing us
The one who's our favorite but never does close to enough
Not seeing that the person right in front of us is truly the one
The one willing to give you everything you crave
Attention, affection, and all the finer things
These kind of people are left hanging onto your words of false hopes
Slowly falling apart and struggling to cope
And while they're crying for you
You're still chasing the other person
The cycle continues
The problem worsens
