Many things have happened since the last chapter. We hit 50,000 reads on My Hero... and hit 700 music notes, and the numbers getting getting higher and higher. Thank you all so much. While you may think I say thanks too much, I feel like it's not enough. Also, the restaurant in this story is Mexican. If you don't like Mexican, then don't fret! But, it's a Colorado restaurant, and it's my favorite restaurant of all-time. Like, seriously! So, without further a-do, let's start this next part!

Your Point of View:

Today was Saturday. Today Laurence was going to take me out for dinner. Did I want it to be awkward? No, of course not. Would I make it awkward? Probably. I mean, I make everything awkward... oops. I looked in my closet, as I was frantically trying to find a dress. Who am I kidding, I suck at dressing up for these kinds of things. I walked out of my room, and went into my mom's room, where I saw her watching some sort of movie on one of those cheesy channels.
"Mom?" I caught her attention, as she looked up, before smiling.
   "Hey honey. What's up?"
   "I need some help."
   "With what?"
"Well, I need to find something to wear for..."
"(F/N) are you going out to dinner with a guy?!" she shot up.
"What an assumption, Mother! For the first time ever, you're right." I mumbled. She screamed, before hugging me.
"OH MY GOODNESS MY BABY'S GROWING UP!!! Then, she's going to marry someone and then I'm going to have grandchildren named...
"MOM! It's just a friend! Calm down!" I squirmed in her grasp.
"Right! Sorry! Wait, a friend? Which one?"
   "Laurence. Calm your butt down."
"Really? HOW FUN!!! LET'S GO TEAR DOWN YOUR CLOSET!" she nearly flew out of the room, and I sighed. I walked into my room, where my mom was already picking out dresses.
"Mom, I don't even know where we're going."
"Then you need something casual, right?" she laid out some of my favorite dresses. Well, at least she had good taste.
   "What's his favorite color?"
   "Mom..."
   "What is it?"
   "Green, but Mom..."
"He's probably going to wear a green shirt."
   "How...?"
   "I don't."
   "OK..."
"Wear this." she gave me a white dress with black stripes on it, and I shrugged. At least it was kind of cute, even if it wasn't my (F/C). I went to the bathroom, and put it on. I walked out, and she was gone. Then, she came back with her jewelry box.
   "Mom... I..."
"Shush. You're wearing something pretty. Now, let me see what I have." I sat on my bed, as she dug through her jewelry. "A-ha!" she pulled out 2 pieces of jewelry. One was a beautiful emerald bracelet, with silver decoration of wiring. The other was a gorgeous emerald necklace with a silver circle around the jewel and a silver chain. Those were... expensive.

   "Mom, I'm not sure..."
"Come on. It's just these. Please?"
   "But they're too nice."
"Let me put it on." I couldn't disagree with her.
"How do I look? I asked her.
"You look beautiful, (F/N). Let's curl your hair!" she took me to her bathroom, and asked me,
"(F/N), what time is he coming?" I looked at my phone. He said around 5. It was 4:36 now.
"In less than 30 minutes. He said 5."
"Oh, so we have time. OK!" she curled my hair, as I looked at the necklace.
"Hey, Mom?" I looked up, as she looked at me through the mirror.
   "Yeah?"
"How have you been since the whole ordeal?"
"I've been OK. I just... made a mistake. I'm really sorry about that, (F/N). I didn't mean to make you and your friends worry. Your father got the message I was in the hospital."
   "Really? Did he call you?"
"Yeah. He asked if I was OK, and I said yes. Honey, your father is stuck in a terrible situation. He wishes he could see us, he really does."
"I wish I could see him too."
"Unfortunately, his co-worker got injured during a business trip, and he has to get better before anyone can travel back. Fortunately, your father said the recovery is going really quickly! He should come back by Christmas time, isn't that great?"
   "Really?" I smiled.
   "Yeah!"
"That's awesome! I would jump, but there's a hot curling iron right by my head." I giggled.
"Whoops! Oh, and we're done!" she smiled, "Oh you look so beautiful! Let's put some hairspray in your hair."
"OK." by the time we were done, it was 4:53. The time was just too slow for me.
"Ooh! Wait!" she ran to her closet, and pulled out a little green purse with a sliver chain. "Use this!"
"Where do you get these things?"
"When you're in school!" she answered. OK then... I put my wallet, sunglasses, mascara, and chap-stick in it. I'd put my phone in it when the time came. "Also, turn around." I faced away from her and she took a piece of my hair and pinned it back. She clipped it in place, and I turned back around. She adjusted it in the front, and then she grinned. "Look in the mirror!" I went to her vanity, and looked in the mirror. She pinned my hair back with a very small green flower. Obviously there was a green theme. Gee, I wonder why... really Mom? I chuckled at the thought, and then I hugged her.
"Thanks Mom. I love it." she hugged me back, and patted my back.
"Of course, sweetie. Let me get a photo!" we walked down the stairs, then I slipped on a pair of black flats, and she told me to stand in front of the staircase. I did so, and she snapped a photo. "I'll send this to you later!" we talked for a while, before the doorbell rang. I looked at my phone. Well, it was 5:00. He was on time, quite literally. I answered the door, and mentally face-palmed. My mom was right. He was wearing a green, black and white short sleeve plaid shirt, dark blue jeans, and all black tennis shoes.
"Hey (F/N)!" he smiled, "Hi (F/N)'s mom!" he chuckled.
"Hello!" she smiled back. "You kids have fun!" I walked out, and closed the door. We went to Laurence's car, and he opened the passenger seat door for me. I hopped in, and he closed the door. Then, he got into the driver's seat.
   "So, where are we going?"
"To my favorite restaurant." he replied.
   "That's not specific."
"Doesn't have to be." he chuckled.
"Oh really?" I giggled, "Can you give me a hint?"
"You've never been anywhere, remember? You just moved." he answered. I stuck my tongue out. He was right, I had no clue where anything was!
"Dang it." I mumbled. He laughed, and then he smirked,
"Well, it's closer than you think. We're here." I looked out the window, and saw a really nice restaurant decorated with colored lights, and bright colors. The Rio Grande.
   "What do you think?"
"I'm excited! And hungry. Mostly hungry." he chuckled, and then parked. We walked in, and then he walked up to the waiter.
"Hello Laurence!" he smiled, "Your table's ready to go. Who's the new friend?"
"This is (F/N). She moved recently, and attends the Academy."
"How awesome is that! Follow me!" we walked up to this really nice area, and he placed us at a booth. He gave us menus, and then walked away. Another man came up and dropped off some silverware, and some glasses. He also gave us a jug of water and some chips and salsa.
"So, how do you like it?" he asked me, smiling.
"I love it! I've never seen a restaurant with such a bright atmosphere. And everyone here seems to be really nice. He seemed to know your name."
"Yeah. Dante, Cadenza and I adore this place. We've been going since we were like, 7 years old. Dante and I like to go here after games, that is if we win." he smiled.
"The next game's this Monday, against SkyCraft?"
"Yeah. I'm going to admit, I'm kind of nervous. They're undefeated!"
"And so are we. We have a chance. Although, I still don't believe I could have competition. Are the Assistant Coaches like a thing in the district?"
"Well, the Academy is it's own independent school, but we play with a district, just as a way to play with other kids. It's just so we get a chance to participate in championships, and more competitions, you know?"
"Yeah, I can see that. But, I do have something to ask you."
"Yeah?" he looked at me, slightly confused.
"In the play, your expressions, you looked hurt... were you OK?"
"Huh? Oh that... yeah. I just overreact sometimes." he chuckled, "It's how stubborn I am. I take things too seriously sometimes."
"I see... but... when you threatened Garroth, that wasn't in script. Neither was that red light, or... your eyes."
   "My eyes?"
"Your eyes... they turned red." his face turned a bit pale, before sighing.
"(F/N)... do you know what I have as my 8th period class?" Oh no, was he going to tell me something?"
"No, I've never heard you mention it before..."
"The waiter's coming. I'll tell you after we order." we quickly ordered, as I got (F/M), and a (F/C). The waiter walked away. Then, he looked around, before I asked him,
   "You were saying?"
"I have a controlling... magicks class." he answered. Magicks... as in like, fantasy?
   "Magicks?"
   "Yeah."
"I mean, that's really cool. You must have some sort of power, right?"
   "It's a power I don't want."
   "What do you mean?"
"When I was born, I was completely mortal. Nothing was wrong with me, In fact, I looked completely different. When I was born, I had green eyes and red hair." he chuckled.
   "No way."
"Way, I have a photo on my phone. But then when I was 3, my parents passed away, and I was taken to this place, that I can't really... recall."
   "What? Laurence, I..."
"It happened a long time ago, no need to give me sympathy. Anyways, this place... the only I could remember was it was red, and brown... and black. It was dark, and then I passed out. Then, I woke up in a building. But when I asked a lady if I could go, she said that the building was my new home, until someone adopted me. At the time, I didn't know what adoption was, so I panicked. I became anti-social, I was incredibly shy, and I had no friends. I was too scared. And then when I was 7, I walked into this room. It was the gatekeeper's room, and there was this mirror, that was like a full body mirror. When I looked into it, my hair was still red, but my eyes were this icy blue color.
   "The one we see now...?"
"Exactly. So then later on, I was adopted by Hayden, and then I remembered someone when I was 3. I remembered Cadenza. Our birth parents were best friends, until something happened to them. So then, Hayden also adopted Cadenza, and we reunited as siblings. So then, I became happier, and then one day when Cadenza and I were like, 9, she wanted to dye my hair, so she did. She dyed it brown. And then one night something happened, and now it's like, brown forever. But, the roots should've grown out. So, I told Hayden about what had happened, and he thought I had magicks."
   "Wow, that's amazing."
"Well, kind of. You see, before Cadenza and I went to Aphmau's Academy, we used to go to this other school. What ended up happening was a girl was hurting Cadenza. I got mad, and I got those red eyes, my body turned a lot more grayer, and my clothes were changed into this red and black armor. After Hayden and I looked it up, we found out I had these evil Shadow Magicks, and I wasn't the only one in the area."
   "Really?"
"Yeah. All my life, I had wanted to be the good guy. I wanted to fly, turn invisible, and do good. But then I found out I had evil magicks. I had brain-washed myself into thinking I was evil. Then, I met Dante at around 8 years old, and him and Cadenza just helped me learn not to use them in public. So then we all ran into Aphmau's Academy, got in, and now we're here."
"At least it has a happy ending." I smiled.
"But, I have evil magicks... you don't care?"
"Of course I care, Laurence. But I know you're not a monster, otherwise you've done something by now. While you might have those magicks, those magicks don't define who you are as a person, they're just there because of something that happened a long time ago. And while it will probably give you limitations, it's not a bad thing. You're not a bad person because of magicks. You've learned to avoid making that your personality, and I didn't even know you had evil, even if it is artificial. Just know that I think you're a good person, your family thinks you are, our friends think you're a good person... isn't that enough to tell yourself that you're not a bad person?"
"Y-You're right. Thank you, (F/N). That means a lot."
"Of course. Now, let's enjoy the rest of the night, now that I know you're feeling relieved."
"Yeah!" The rest of the dinner was absolutely lovely. Laurence and I were talking about random things as if we had known each other for years, and it brought me a ton of happiness. The food was amazing! We headed out the door, and Laurence and I drove back to my house.
"Let me walk you inside, yeah?" he asked me.
"OK, thanks Laurence." I replied. I unlocked the door, and it was completely dark. Was my mom already asleep? It was only about 7...
"SURPRISE!" the lights turned on, and there stood everyone. Laurence walked up next to Garroth, and I gasped. Then, the lights turned off again. They turned on, and then standing right in front of me was my dad.
   "D-Daddy?"
"I missed you (F/N)." I hugged him, and I swear I could feel the tears running down my face. Here was here, and I could touch him and hug him. My father was back, and hopefully he would never leave again.

AWWWWWWWWWWW IT'S TOO KAWAII!!!!! Well, hey there! I updated! I feel really accomplished, too. This book is just floating along smoothly, and I love it! I hope you all love this book, too, because I love writing it. Also, can we talk how KAWAII Baby Dante is?? He's so CUTE I swear I was going to die of cuteness! I also think it's safe to say we're reaching the halfway mark in this book, so that's kind of cool :) I think this book is nearing the amount of parts My Hero has, which is pretty cool too, cause My Hero was kind of hard to write. This one's a lot easier cause I can relate to what's happening in the story! Also, some of you have been asking when Aphmau comes into play. Well... I have a rather nice idea for that ;) She's been in this book a couple times, and I've given some clues on what she does, but they're really hidden, so it's hard to find them. I swear to you, and I tell this to my friends all the time, I feel like Alex Hirsch when writing this book. In this book, you really have to pay attention to detail. You may have seen this for Garroth's Gift. If anyone can guess what I did leading up to the actual gift, let me know. There was a really specific conversation between Dante and Garroth *hint hint* ;) Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this part, and I'll see you all in the next one! Buh-bye! ~Morgan <3 :D
