"Ha! I beat you!" I say putting down my clue cards

"Barely." Ross said crossing his arms, but then laughing. "Wanna go for a walk?"

"Sure."

"Ross, were are we going?" I ask.

"Don't worry I've been here a thousand times before." We come through a clearing and I see a dock and a lake. "Come on." Ross says. I can feel the smile on my face. I see Ross standing by a rock. I walk over, climb up on the rock and then climb up on the tree branch. Ross climbs up after me.

"I come here when I need an escape." He says looking at the water. "Sometimes I sketch, and sometimes I just...think." He looks at me and smiles. Our faces are inches apart. I move a piece of golden hair out of his eyes and he smiles more. I look in his eyes.

"I-"he paused and spoke softly. "I wrote 'Pass Me By' here." I smiled and stood up I pulled on a rope.

"And what's this for?"

"It's for swinging into the pond." He said. I felt a couple of rain drops. "Did you feel that?" Ross asked.

"Yes." I replied. I looked at the rope, smiled and then looked at Ross. "Might as well."

"What are you-"I grabbed onto the rope and swung over the pond and then let go. And splashed into the cold water. I was only wearing shorts and a silky peek-a-boo shoulder flowy top. I came up with my wet hair behind me. It started pouring. Ross laughed and followed me in. He swam over to me.

"I like a spontaneous girl." I rolled my eyes and laughed.

"ew."

"I'm freezing." I said. Within five minutes Ross and I both got out. We stood in the rain. Ross had his arm on my shoulders. I don't like being cliché but I decided to go for it. I turned to Ross and stared in his big hazel eyes he looked back at me and smiled. I took his hand and we sat on a rock. I looked at him.

"Kiss me." I said. He looked confused. "I don't like being cliché but I feel it's in the moment." He smiled. I shrugged my shoulders. He put his hands on my waist I put one hand on his cheek and another on the back of his head running my hands through his hair. After fifteenish seconds we pulled back. He pecked me once more. After that we lent our foreheads together.

"Will you go on a date with me?" I decided to go for it I smiled but before I could talk I heard-

"Ross?" A tall boy with red hair, a thin girl with ombre hair and a Hispanic girl were all standing there. The Hispanic girl was talking.

"Raini!" Ross said! "I forgot about the party! Sorry!" I looked over at them. Raini started talking again.

"Riker said you'd be here!" She looked disgusted. "You creep! Why are you making out with a ten year old?" She said walking closer. I felt my face turn hot. I widened my eyes and looked at Ross.

"We weren't making out! We just- Kissed." He said. "This is my friend Nina. We worked together in Teen Beach Movie. She's fifteen."

"Really?" Raini asked. I shook my head. "Oh sorry. Wow I didn't know you had a girlfriend Ross!"

"We're not dating." I said.

"Oh." Raini said. "Wow you must have a difficult time."

"Yeah I mean cabinets can be tricky." I said making everyone laugh.

"No," Raini replied. "I mean Cause you look like you're ten, you're never gonna get married! I mean no one wants to marry someone who looks like they're ten!" She laughed. My stomach began to hurt.

"Raini!" Ross, the ombre haired girl and the other boy said. My eyes were wide and my mouth was open. I had never thought about that. She was right. I backed up.

"Nina-" Ross said putting his hand out.

"No...Um...the answer to your question is no." He shook his head and looked upset. He pushed a piece of hair out of my face. "I got to go." I ran through the clearing back to the Lynch house. I ran up to Rydel's room and took a pair of sweat pants and a pink shirt I put them on and put my hair in a bun. I wrote Rydel a note saying I would give her clothes and ran downstairs being careful to not run into Ross. I Ran up to Riker and had to pull my pants up before they fell off because they were way too big. I took his hand and ran out the door. I pulled my pants up again and sobbed. I closed the front door.

"Will you drive me home?" I sobbed.

"Are you okay?" Riker asked grabbing my hands.

"I'm fine I just need to go home now." I sobbed looking at the clearing making sure Ross wasn't coming. Then I saw him, Raini, the girl and the boy coming out. "Run! Get your keys!" I said. He saw I was avoiding Ross and ran in the house. I ran in the car and Ross saw me and started running towards me. "Run, Riker!" I said quietly, as I saw Ross get closer. Riker Ran out got in the car and pulled out. We drove away, just missing Ross. I look in my window and saw him standing on the dirt road watching us drive away.

When we got on the highway Riker finally talked.

"What did he do?"

"Nothing. It was Raini."

"What did she say?"

"I'll never get married. Because I look like I'm ten."

"That's not-"

I sobbed, interrupting him. "Yes it is...I don't wanna talk about it."

"Why are you wet?"

"The rain." I said. I didn't feel like talking about the great time I had swimming because it reminded me of the tragic end.
