It was Stoick's funeral.

I could see the people gathered in a straight line and Gobber had just handed Hiccup a bow and arrow, reciting something that I couldn't hear from up.
My hair blew slightly in the wind and my eyesight was going blurry because of the tears gathered.

Third time I'm going to be crying today.

I quickly blinked back the tears and ran back, mounting Screamy and making my way down to a rock that kept me and the huge dragon hidden from the others.

"Don't make a sound, boy." I whispered to the dragon and he nodded. I peered over the rock, hearing nothing.
I then saw everyone in tears over the loss of their great chief.

The sky was dark and gloomy, matching the event that was going on at the moment.
A half-destroyed ship was floating away slowly. A lifeless body was placed in the mantle and a sheet covered it. Stoick's horned helmet was placed on top of the body.

They were in their line but Hiccup was standing in front of them all with the arrow on fire and the bow straightened, all set to shoot.
His expression was somewhat neutral with only a sad and broken emotion on his face but he was also composed.
His mind was frazzled. He had messed up everything with everyone.

They were all upset because of the death of his father and they regarded him as a great hero.
But they were even more upset at Hiccup for the way he had treated Skye. He had no right to say such horrible things.
Right now, they were all concentrating on the intense situation of their chief.

A sad tear slid down Hiccup's cheek as he released the fiery arrow, which sailed in a perfect arc through the air and struck the mantle, setting fire to the ship.
That cued the others and they did the same somberly.
Gobber was crying along with Valka.

Soon, the full ship was in flames and sunk into the waters slowly.

Skye watched this sadly, willing no more tears to fall out. It took all of her strength to not go to Hiccup and comfort him, but then changed her mind as she remembered what he had said to hurt her.

"I'm sorry, Stoick. I tried protecting Hiccup but I failed. " Skye whispered as she put her head in her hands.
She could hear what was going on, and Hiccup chose that moment to address his friends.

"I'm sorry, dad." Hiccup sighed and dropped the bow, looking forlornly at the sea.

Astrid shook her head with a sad smile.

"I was so scared of being my dad. Mostly because I thought I never could. How can you be someone that great? That brave? That selfless?" He sighed and pulled his gaze downwards. " I guess you can only try."

Valka looked at her handsome son and approached him solemnly. She stood beside him and started speaking.

"You came early into this world. You were such a wee thing- so frail and fragile. I feared you wouldn't make it. But you're father never doubted you. He always said that you would because the greatest chief-and he was right."
Valka face her son with a slight smile.
Hiccup mimicked her, accepting the comfort.

"People make mistakes all the time. We're Vikings and it's in our nature. But it's what you learn and do after that counts. "
Valka went closer to Hiccup and spoke, making sure no one could hear as they all looked to each other for comfort.

"The girl, Skye, she made many mistakes and now she is afraid of living her life. I can see that she had suffered so much and she just doesn't want to be hurt anymore. She tries so hard to protect her loved ones and would be broken if she failed. "
