The ground beneath my feet flew by as I ran through the forest. It's dark, so I didn't notice someone there until it was too late. I quickly turned to face the person after me, but something inside told me to not be afraid. I pushed the silly thought away. There was no point in being afraid. Fear is one of the many things that stand in the way to finding who you truly are. Without fear I turned to face the person. No one was there. Instead it felt as if the shadows were brushing against me, whispering voices telling me to give in to the darkness.
From the corner of my eye a dark figure steps out of the shadow. It was as if a dark mist was swirling around the body of a man to conceal his true identity. I sniffed the air and smelt the most delicious scent I've ever smelt. My mouth watered.
I stared into the eyes of the man - the predator - who captured my entire attention like no one ever had. His pitch black eyes bored into my soul, reminding me that this wasn't just any man; he's a beast.
"What do you want?" I asked as calmly as was allowed in my frazzled state, not daring to take a step back as he took one forward.
His eyes stayed solely on me as he walked until in front of me, towering over my figure as a man would a child. I didn't let the size difference bother me, though. In my world, size doesn't matter, the fight in the person is. And I have a lot of fight. Then again, so does he.
"You," his deep voice pronounced easily.
I had to crane my neck in order to keep eye contact. I smile sadly. "No, you don't want me, you want power. Always power," I amended with that same smile plastered on my face.
Stepping back, I lower my gaze to his muscular chest. Of course he would wear no shirt. Torture.
"Do you truly believe that in your mind?" His finger rested gently on my head. "In here?" He then proceeded to lay his hand on my chest, right above my heart.
I made myself move away from his touch. "Why go so far?" I asked quietly. My head flashed up and I pushed him away. He flew back a couple steps with a shocked look on his face. I was screaming now. " Why do you want to hurt me so bad? Why? I accept you for everything you are, and for everything you did in the past, yet you can't stand the thought of loving another person because you're so scared of losing that love. But you crossed the line. I won't become something you can use and throw away. Not now. Not ever. I choose love and forgiveness over hate and darkness, so I forgive you for hurting me, and I love you for being loyal to your pack, your kingdom."
By the time I finished I was talking like normal, as if I didn't just break down. He stared unblinking, not showing a hint of emotion on that more than handsome face.
I shook my head once, and, regaining my composure, turned and ran. Didn't know where, just ran and ran without paying attention. As I ran, I could feel him running after me, but I didn't look back nor did I want to face him; he got the message, so why chase after me knowing my decision?
I wasn't able to think of an answer, because in the next second he stood before me and I came to a complete stop.
But as I opened my mouth to respond, I caught myself, frozen, and stared. His eyes had gone an even darker shade of black, teeth sharpened to a deadly point .
"What are you? You're different," I said. The figure didn't move or talk but I knew he agreed with me. I walked closer to the figure, moving with an ease that came naturally.
"As well as you are. For the question, you must wait. In time you will know me."
I had to keep from shivering as I walked a circle around the figure. His voice was deep, dark, rich, dangerous, and powerful - all the traits that made me want to know the true identity behind who and what this man was.
I nod, not able to stop from smiling. "So you've heard of me and my brother," I said as a fact. He nodded his head just a fraction of an inch to indicate that he has. "No surprise."
It couldn't have been helped, he knew from the start I wasn't werewolf or a vampire. This time he circled me, more slowly, and stopped right behind me.
His breath tickling my ear as he said, "You are the hybrid I have been watching for a very long time now."
Yeah, like that's not creepy at all. Who was he to intrude into my dreams?
"Okay, so I'm going. Bye."
His next statement stopped me in my tracks. "You are mine."
That made me laugh without humor. "I'm telling you this right now," I warned, looking over my shoulder. "I belong to no one. And why should I care what you say anyways? You're just a person I made up. A dark thing that takes physical form from inside my dreams."
The figure became more dark, more evil. "You know that's not true. You don't believe that," he said calmly, standing in front of me. I looked up into his face, but he didn't have one. It was covered in the dark mist.
I swallowed, shaking my head to try to wake myself up. It didn't work. No, I was in control of my dreams. This can't happen again. I whirled around and ran off into the dark forest. Not in fear but for something else. Maybe it's because I knew we had a connection. Maybe not, but I knew that I didn't want to be here. It wasn't long before he started to chase me. Once he caught up he grabbed my wrist and pulled me back into him. I growled as painful tingles shot up my arm. These tingles were painful, yes, but at the same time it was pleasurable.
"Let me go," I said coldly, trying to take my arm back, glaring at him.
The figure took a step closer, leaning down to whisper,"Never," before he slammed my body into a tree and kissed me. This kiss stirred something animalistic inside me. Something that I have never felt in my whole eighteen years. A gasp of surprise passed by my lips as something dark and evil burst from within, consuming my very soul. I fell to the floor, wrapped my arms around myself, and squeezed my eyes tightly shut.
"Bella, are you okay, honey?" I slowly picked myself up and turned around. My mom and dad were there, standing hand in hand with my brother right next to them. A cruel smile came across my face, making them take a step back.
An animal-like growl came from my throat as I shot forward and blacked out.
Once I was myself again I looked around and covered my mouth, gasping. My family lay in bloody pools around me. Broken . . . Dead. And then out of nowhere a mirror was in front of me, showing me covered in blood. Not just any blood though, it was the blood of my family. I screamed. In the background my evil laugh echoed in the deepest, darkest parts of the forest, forever haunting me.
Forever marking me as it's own.
Forever in darkness.
