Connection Through Blindness

Chapter 10

Lev, Adrian and Jeremy immediately contacted the pack. My legs unfroze and I allowed my body to lead me to him.

"We should wait for everyone," Adrian suggested.

My body didn't respond. I kept walking, then jogged, then was running before I knew it. In a couple of hours I finally reached where he was kept.

"We should wait," Adrian suggested again. This time I listened, and we waited. Hours flew by until they arrived.

My mom and dad went to my side. "Where do you think he is?" Vincent asked.

I just stood there, motionless.

"What's wrong?" Ellie questioned.

"Can't you see it?" I wondered, mesmerized by it.

"See what?" Vincent asked in confusion.

I pointed a finger ahead. "The force field."

I knew they thought I lost my mind yet they still walked forward and froze, faces going blank as they turned around and kept walking past us.

"Where are you going?" Emmett hollered.

My parents stopped, confused, frowns covering their faces.

"What happened?"

A cold laugh interrupted anyone who was going to speak. The air became unwelcome. All heads snap over to him, pushing me behind them.

Laughing, I jump to the front of the line. "Thank you, but I don't need your protection right now," I chirp, smiling.

"You still remind me of your mom," Vincent mumbled under his breath.

I sigh, deciding to ignore him. I face the direction he's at, saying, "Come out, come out, Beta Ryan."

At the mention of his name the Beta walked out from the cover of the trees. Everyone flinched back from his power, even my mom nd dad, which was a surprise. Then again my mom and dad had been through a lot because of him and the Alpha King.

Angry that my family were so afraid of him, I take a step forward. "Careful, Bella," Vincent warned. "He's dangerous."

I smiled, chuckling. "He may be dangerous to you, but he's merely a pup to me."

"Just like your brother is a pup to the Alpha King."

I snapped my fingers as if he just reminded me of something, and I grin. "Right, you're the one who had his claws at my brothers throat. Mm, I wonder how long it'll take you to die?" I asked no one in particular. "I could kill you in an instant, yet I want you to suffer if my brother has."

Something flashed in his eyes. Fear, maybe? Or was it hope?

Before I could decipher the emotion he had already wiped it away. "Kill me, your brother dies," he said simply, shrugging.

I kept the smile on my face as I walk even further into the territory. The Beta smirks but loses it when I pass through the force field. I got right up in his face, looking him straight in eye. Up this close, I had to admit that he's pretty hot, but the thought is pushed aside.

"Take me to your Alpha King," I command with power in my voice. "Even without you, I can easily find him, so choose wisely."

His eyes widen in surprise and shock as my Alpha power slams into him. He now has no choice but to listen to me. I take a step forward, stop, and looked back at my family and mom and dad.

"Don't go," Ellie pleaded, clutching her mate.

He held her as tightly as she him. "Bells, there could be another way."
