There was blood everywhere, covering the field in an unnatural color. This field was supposed to be a place where the packs could get together and have fun, not a battle field.

Two wolves ran at me from both sides. I ducked, taking one wolf's head between my legs and snapping his neck while at the same time ripping the heart out of the other wolf's chest as he flew above us.

I landed gracefully on my feet.

They crashed on the floor behind me as I moved on to the next few.

Oh, this is great. First, I'm rejected by a mate that isn't sure if he wants me - I jump over a wolf and kick him on his spine, breaking it - then this psychotic Beta Ryan comes and takes my brother - with a smile I gouge a man's eyes out - and to make things even more annoying I have to fight these damn wolves that invaded our territory.

Rogues do try sneaking into the territory, but not this much. Not all at the same time. They're usually frightened of us, but as I looked around me I may have seen fear, but I also saw determination in the way they moved and looked. Why are they so determined? What could they want?

Just as I thought that I heard a woman's scream. Tuning out the noise around me, I zone in on place it came from. There it was again, the screams. My nostrils flared as I caught the familiar scents of my families packs.

Finishing the wolf I was fighting I took off in the direction the women were. It took merely seconds for me to reach them. Pregnant women and children were bound in chains, kneeling on the ground as a few dozen rogues littered the area. I could have killed most of them, but it wasn't possible for me to save them all without the rogues threatening the little ones.

Inhale. Exhale.

I gritted my teeth to keep from growling as a man slid a hand down a teenager girl's face. She flinched and snapped her elongated canines at him with a snarl.

He jumped away in surprise, not expecting her to react like that.

I smiled. That's the strength I know that lived in these werewolves.

Now for the easy part. I quickened my breathing while messing up my hair. In the process of making myself look disgruntled, a growl came from behind me. I stayed where I was and raised my hands, saying, "I give myself over without a fight."

He growled again and walked around me with dark eyes. I froze for what felt like a lifetime as more wolves approached and did the exact same thing, sniffing and circling me with awed expressions.

Geez, don't they have something better to do then stare at me all day, I thought in annoyance.

"Well, now I know the rumors are true," said a voice behind the wolves. Like soldiers they stepped aside and out came a man with a wicked look in his eyes as they travelled the length of my body but stayed glued to my face. "The daughter of the Shadow Blood pack is the most beautiful thing."

I feel like barfing. Sighing, I tip my head to the side, looking him over. This man had the body of a werewolf, but his face was a disaster. It looked like someone just bit a chunk of his cheek off.

"Why are you staring at me like that?" He wanted to know while coming closer.

Grinning, "I'm studying the person that I'm going to kill," I sing lightly, laughing.

The rogues burst into roars of laugher as they closed in. I was calm, waiting patiently. Their fingers were inches away from my skin when the leader snarled and made everyone back away.

"She's mine," he growled, glaring at the surrounding men. They submitted. "Follow me."

I followed in silence. He bound me in chains, pointing at a spot next to a little boy. I kneeled down next to him.
