This morning, I woke up in a cold sweat, chills running down my spine, skin feeling as if acid was burning from the inside out. There's only one thing that could possibly cause these symptoms; the Heat. I never wanted to have the Heat after hearing stories and seeing what the Heat did to female werewolves.

I was barely able to open my eyes when a knock filled the silence that hurt my ears. Someone opens and closes the door, and I could tell by the musky and manly scent that it was the Alpha King.

"The nurse will bring a sedative," he said quietly.

Anger burst out from the darkest part of me. I jumped up on the bed, surrounded by his scent and voice and presence. I stepped down and walked slowly toward him.

"Our first time shouldn't be like this," he insisted softly. I was standing in front of him when he said that, and I growled at him.

His eyes narrowed in anger and surprise and lust. Just the way I wanted him. But instead of doing what I'd wanted him to do, he stepped away. I stepped forward.

"I'm sorry," he apologizes, making a dash to the door. I beat him there in a second. We're usually evenly matched but my senses and strengths were heightened. It still felt like I was in a drunken state, though.

I was so focused on him that I didn't notice the door opening behind me. I felt the tiniest pinch on my arm. Taking a deep breath, the scent of another female in the air. A snarl was ripped out through my chest. I whirled around so fast no one able to see me, my canines barred at the unmated female. I wrapped my claws around the startled woman and threw her at the door. She broke through the door and I slammed it so no more distractions could interrupt us.

My glare burned my mate. I ran forward and tackled him to the floor, feeling the fire burn hotter. He watched as I ripped his shirt off and licked his deliciously muscled chest and abs, eyes going even darker than their usual dark. I rubbed myself against him, moaning in pleasure. I then felt another big pinch on my arm, and I looked down and saw a huge shot being taken out of my arm. I blinked at him and smiled, trying to take off his pants.

He rolled me over and held me down with his strong, big hands. I wanted more. My body was on fire.

"Let me go," I order, twisting and turning. No use, though. Damn guy is too strong.

He stared at me as my heart started to slow. I could feel my body shutting down, and then the next moment I went unconscious.

I didn't know how long I'd tossed and turned in pain, calling for my mate through our bond, groaned and moaned, almost at the point of crying but gritted my teeth and held on. I couldn't stay awake for more than a couple of minutes. The nurses tried to feed me and give me something to drink but nothing worked.

The most painful thing, though, is that since our bond grew between us, I knew he felt what I felt, but even then he didn't visit me. Only Ray did.

For two weeks I was like that until finally the Heat left. I still felt weak but my anger was stronger. I got out of bed, dressed in only underwear and a bra, and marched out of the room. I sure did bump into lots of the pack. The males eyes widened at the perfect body and curves. Their eyes were covered by the females because they knew the Alpha King would kill them if they got caught.

Word spread quickly like things always did in packs. I took the first flight of stairs, whispers all around me but not caring. Then I took the second, bumping right into Ryan. He was surprised to see me in the state I was in.

I moved past him as he said, "He's going to be furious."

I reached the top of the stairs and barged into the office where the worst Alphas were, their lustful eyes going up and down my body.
