I'm sixteen and a girl and last summer I came out to my dad and step mom. I was hesitant to tell my mom knowing that she is fairly religious. My dad, my step mother and I were sitting around the campfire at Lake Glendo. We got on the subject of me having kids and I just kind of blurted "Well it's a good thing I'm gay" my dad started laughing and they thought it was a joke until my step mom Kristin looked at me as said "Wait are you being serious?' I just nodded and she got up and gave me a hug and my dad was really happy he was kind of drunk and almost fell out of his chair. I begged them not to tell my mom and they still havent. It's almost four months since then and I'm getting ready to tell my mom tonight.
