So I first realized my sexuality about two years ago. I said I was bi but as time went on I realized I really never had feeling for guys so I came out to myself as a lesbian. I was in the closet for a good year at least unsure what my parents would say because I'm Roman Catholic and you could never be too careful. But on December 8th Connor Franta posted his coming out video and in it he says how no one should have to hide who they are and got very emotional from it and I thought of that non stop for the next 24 hours watching it over repeatedly and I decided that while my sister was working and my dad and brothers were at Boy Scouts it was time to tell her. She was so supportive and amazing and she told me she would tell my dad for me if it's easier on me so she did. With both of my parents we had the best conversations ever on the subject and they were just saying how much they loved me and it was just a good experience coming out for me. And if I could give anyone advice really quickly, yes it's hard. Maybe the hardest thing you'll ever do who knows? But it's well worth it to be able to be open and not hide yourself. But come out when you are 100% ready. ONLY THEN.
