~Still In Mind Link~
"A- Aar- Aaron?" I'm hoping it's not true. "Yep that's the one. Well basically all the demons, mythological, dark creatures all work under me. They serve, die, hunt, and kill for me. Aaron- No, I should really be addressing him by his given name, Abigor. Abigor, my highest ranked officer in the Underworld." Satan said slyly.
"Even his fake and real name sound the same. Try it. Sound it out." He instructed me to do so. "A- Abigor, Abi-gor...A-ar-on." It was true, his real and fake did sound the same, but that could have been a coincidence.
It's as if he was reading my thoughts because he tells me "I know you won't believe me yet. You're thinking that it could just be a coincidence. You have yet to succumb to me. And this is a fact. You can't not deny this one. The day you saw the battle between Abigor and Connor, I assume. Abigor was engulfed by energy, how do and what do you suppose it was? How did he do it? And what exactly is he? Well, I'll let him tell you." The Devil taunted me, knowing all along that I couldn't deny that fact.
I clenched my jaw, angry, sad, sorrow, and most of all, helpless. "But, I can at least tell you something that you'd want to know about yourself. Would you like to hear it?" Satan offered. I nodded.
"Well then, remember how you transformed into something? Of course you do. Do you know what it was that you transformed into? Something that is crimson scarlet red, burning with fire." He gave me hints. I shook my head as my answer.
"None at all? Hahahaha. Really? Here, I'll give you one more hint, it's the world's greatest legend and history. The key to saving the world and bringing the Sun back." He told me. "I'm not sure what you mean. I don't know of this legend you speak of." I tell him.
"Okay, okay. Fine, I'll stop beating around the bush. Let's get serious here." His tone gave the coldness offense. I still didn't understand. "You're a Phoenix." He said, giving off an effect or deep impression.
My spine went limp and cold. "A what? A Pheonix?" I stumbled over the last word. Everything was so confusing, so much to take in.
"Yes a Phoenix! A fire bird, predator to all. Yet a prey to all those who fear but are greedy for the need of your blood and power. The most fairest, beautiful, savior of them all, the Phoenix!" He said with great passion. I was grossed out, but I pushed that aside.
"But- But I don't understand! Why was I the one who got chosen?! How are we going to save the world?!" I ask, buzzard at the thought. "Not we, but I. You are the one and only the only one who can save the world. You'll understand soon enough. I must go now. I will mind link you the next time I get the time to. Farewell for now, and I suggest you ask Abigor for answers and.....The truth." With that, Satan shimmered and faded away. Leaving no trace what so ever.
~End Of Mind Link~
My eyes gently winked open, revealing nighttime, had come across. There was a light, burning light, in the view. I rustled, someone had put his coat on me for warmth. I slid it down and eyed the rest of my surrounding. I was up against a tree, Aaro- Abigor far opposite on the other side, a rock for a wall, eyes open, staring up at the stars. He was shirtless, showing but a few skin and bandages wrapped around his chest and rib cage.I did not see Noellen anywhere. Probably went hunting.
I slowly stood to my full height. I walked over to Abigor's side. If he was aware that I was there, he didn't show it, his eyes kept staring at the night sky. I sat down next to him, slightly giving me and him some space. I cuddled my thighs, bringing them close to my chest, then I set my chin on top of my knees.
Then I spoke. "Aar- Abigor." I still couldn't get used to his real name, but as soon as I said his real name, giving him away, he flicked his head, turning towards me in surprise. "What?!" He asked like he didn't hear right. I ignored his comment and continued. "You knew...All along, didn't you? That I was the key to this world saving crap. And that I was a Phoenix." He lays there, quietly, thinking.
"Yeah, I knew. But I didn't know that you were the Phoenix. I always thought that that was a legend, not real, not true." He admitted. "Why? Why didn't you tell me?!" Anger, but also sadness rose in my throat. "What do you want from me?! God! You're so annoying." He angered up too.
"I want the truth!" I shouted back at him, no longer sitting but standing up now. He clenched his jaw, frustrated perhaps. "Okay, fine! You want the truth? I'll give you the truth. In the meantime, sit down." He said bitterly.
I sat down, ready to burst with tears. "I am Abigor, the highest ranking officer in the Underworld, but that's not all. I'm a hybrid. Half demon...Half dragon." He told me, he inspected his arm, like he was expecting at any moment right now, to see scales lingering his arm.
I put my hand over my mouth, trying to contain the shock in my voice. But he noticed it too well, probably getting the same reaction from the ones before when telling his story. Then he continued.
"My Mother was a demon, she controlled Hell's fire. My Father was a dark dragon, his scales were gleaming with black, he controlled the darkness and Hell's sky. How he and my Mother met, I do not know. But my Father and Mother had a high position in the Underworld, both continuously busy with work, ordered by Satan. So when I was born, I was immediately welcomed with open arms, and my rank was given to me immediately. My power grew stronger every day, surpassing all the other students in the Underworld's world. The Underworld is a world too you know, it's just....evolved around darkness. But anyways, when I turned 9, missions lined up for me to take them on. Turning onto 19, I got this mission, the hardest yet." Abigor/ Aaron shifted uncomfortably in his position, then strayed his eyes up to the sky again.
"My Lord, Satan, didn't tell me much about this mission. He said, the key to saving this world, is this girl, he showed me a blurry image of you. He told me your name and sent me out quickly." I interupted him, I couldn't understand something. "But didn't you say he was ill?"
"Yes, he was ill. He still is. If he wasn't he'd be on this quest himself, but it isn't the usual fever and disease normal people get. He's in coma, sleeping, energy draining gallon by gallon down. Which brings us back to you. How did you know my name, my real name, was Abigor?" He asked.
I wasn't ready to tell him that I met the Overlord through a mind link yet. So I came up with something. "I uh...I- An instinct that I held suspicious, made me think that you were Abigor." I knew that it wasn't convinceing, but he took it. I faltered with my words a bit, trying to contain all the shock and truth. He was silent, figuring that he was done, I slipped away into the forest.
I wanted and needed a breather of air right now. I heard a stream nearby and stroded over to it. I stood on a rock, dipping into the stream. The wind was more forceful tonight than the others. My feet, slightly apart from each other, my hands down, and my hair fluttering in the air. I stood there, thinking.
Aaron is Abigor, highest ranking officer, hybrid. Half demon, half dragon. I took a deep breath. Satan, is his master. Abigor is on a mission. He is a demon...demon...dragon...He tricked me! He hurted me...He works for the Overlord! For God's sake, Percy! Stay together! What is so good about him, that you have to care who he is? I clenched the fists by my side.
Aaron is Abigor. He works for Satan, The Devil, the Overlord. He is a hybrid. Half demon, half dragon. Now me, what I found about myself. I am not normal. I am not human. Yes I am! Wait, no. I don't know! I am a Phoenix. I am the key.
I couldn't fight the urge cry, so I cried tears away. I'm to save the world. I stood there silently.
Then I unclenched my fists slowly, silently putting the puzzle pieces together. I love Abigor.
