Ch16: Day 3

*Clang!* There was a loud clatter of a silver bowl with mix. Rika seemed surprised too, but she wasn't giving the are-you-crazy look. "You-You mean Rika's- Rika's that 14 year old girl from 4 years ago?!" I ask Noellen, still bizarred. He nods and just stands still, waiting for Rika to make the first move. "It's you right? Rika?" Noellen asked, pain in his voice. "No-Noellen?" Rika asks back, sadness in her's.

Rika slowly makes her way to Noellen, both unspeakable. When Rika was close enough, she cupped Noellen's face and caressed it. Noellen stood there, quietly taking in the details of his beloved. "So wait, what are you doing here Rika? Why did you leave? Did you even care about Noellen's feelings? What about the miscarriage?!" Questions came spilling out of my mouth.

Rika stepped back, retreating her hands. "I can tell you all of it from the beginning. So let's sit down now, shall we?" Rika explains. We all nod and take a seat somewhere.

"When I first met Noellen, it was heart warming, familiar you could say. Anyways, Noellen was just 14, I, 13. He and that girl, Tina, stopped by our village inn, where I was entertaining the guests dancing. He complimented me and saved me. When I was going upstairs, I slipped, and gladly, in time, Noellen caught me!" Rika crosses her legs.

"What about the "thing"?" I ask.

"Ahhh, yeah that. Not too long after Noellen and Tina settled here, Connor came along. I'm sure you know it was Connor who got me pregnant, but there was a reason as to why. he found out that I had a........Thing for Noellen. And so, Connor wanted to see Noellen in pain, at losing someone precious. Of course I didn't know if I was even something precious to Noellen But after a few weeks, I felt strange, I was pregnant at the age of 14.The villagers put the blame on Noellen since he was the one who led the vampires there. Noellen relucantly agreed to this, settling down with me for the rest of his and my life. I was very well happy, just being there with him made me very happy, but I wasn't so sure if he was happy." Noellen shifted uncomfortably.

"That's when I started having doubts. Knowing that I was pregnant and he wasn't the father, I was aware that I wasn't all too happy. But, the miscarriage wasn't on purpose. Infact, I was against killing my own baby, but I thought too soon. Connor visited me, having thought that Noellen was happy, Connor had a talk with me. He viciously hated Noellen, so he said that he was going to take the thing most important from him. My baby. Connor made me swallow some kind of medicine, it strongly effected me. Because as soon as Connor forced it down, I felt strangely ill. Then the baby inside, thrashed and kicked, hurting me. Then, just as fast as the thrashes came, it stopped." I heard Lily sniffle and a tear pass Rika's cheeks.

"When I finally woke up again, I was laying in the head villager's house. Alot of villagers were there, all crowding around. My friend, concern swelled her face, told me of the news. My baby was gone. After receiving the news, I fainted. Next time I woke up, it was pitch black, nighttime. My friend was beside of me, asleep. I wasn't too happy with myself, nor could I take it all at once. So without saying goodbye, I left the village and came here." Rika finished.

By the look on Rika's face, she still loved Noellen. I'm also assuming that Noellen had produced some feelings through their time together.

Noellen reached his hand outward to caress Rika's face. She didn't flinch or back away, instead, she accepted it, taking his hand in her own.

I grabbed Lily's arm and dragged her out of the kitchen. Lily immediately understands and smiles at me. I nod and then walk away. Giving Rika and Noellen time to be together was the best thing I could do for Noellen, for now.
