Ch22: Unexpected Encounter

"Watch out!" I call out to Tia and Valorie as the hot orange and red fireball scorches across the grassy field.

Valorie's eyes widened as she and Tia dodged quickly as the ball passes them and disintegrates.

"What happened?!" Noellen and Lewis come rushing out behind from the bush from hunting. "Valorie!" Lewis drops his sword and runs over to her. I rub the back of my head nervously as Aaron comes to my side.

"Uh.....The fireball was strong and powerful, but, you could probably try harder to control it, right?" Aaron asked. I nodded glumly.

We've passed the borders of Tavaila. I've been practicing and taking advice from Aaron, but the only thing I've improved on so far, is the power of my fire, and the size. No luck in the aiming or summoning.

I don't know why, but I just can't get it right. Me and Aaron have been practicing for 2 days ever since I got the Ember Sparkler power.

I sigh and walk back to camp, leaving everybody else in the clearing. "Let's just give it a rest, Percy..." I tell myself as the campfire and the river come into view.

"I need a place to think..." There's a rock on the other side of the river, and it would definitely make a good hiding place to think!

I hastily take off my combat boots and tread quickly through the water to the other side. I hid behind the rock, just as the gang returned from the clearing.

I heard Lewis yawn and Tia's small voice.

"Huh? What are Percy's boots doing here?" Aaron's voice ringed. "Huh?! What? Where did she go?! Oh no!! She fell into the river!! Percy! Where are you?! Oh no! What if she drowned?! Percy!!" Lewis was going into panic mode.

I heard Noellen sigh and then say "Relax, she didn't drown or do suicide." I heard some splashing sounds, but no hints or sounds indicating that they had found me.

"Then where is she?!" Lewis snapped back. "Relax, she's not far. If you really want to find her, listen very closely." Noellen suggested. Everything went quite.

 Then "Percy!". Could Lewis not read the mood? Ugh, the idiot!

I got up from behind the rock and slowly walked into view. I shook my head and just waded back across the river.

"Percy! Oh man, I was so worried about you! I thought you'd drown or something!" Lewis was patting my back like it was nothing.

I sighed and just sat cross legged and up against a tree. I could smell our dinner for tonight. Potato soup and bread.

I closed my eyes, to think, and to relax.

Why can't I get a hold on my powers? This is so much harder than I thought it was, but then again, who wouldn't say that having the Earth on your shoulders wouldn't be hard? Saving the world was way more harder then waking up at 5 a.m to go to work in the morning. This sucks!

I heard someone plunk beside me. I opened my eyes to slightly glance at who it was.

"Ah..You know Percy...You don't have to be discouraged at this...There's still more time, we just have to keep practicing is all." He gave me those puppy eyes.

"Ah..Thanks Aaron, I guess." I was more worried about Aaron now then I was about fire summoning.

"No problem..." He turned silent.

Sooner than later, we had dinner. It was pretty good, for a vampire that is. I've never truly ate food made from a vampire until I started this journey to save the world stuff. Not that I've ever met a vampire till now.

I set my empty bowl aside and remembered something regarding Noellen.

"Hey, Noellen..." Everyone turns to me. "Yeah?" He says.

"Whatever happened to Rika?" I haven't heard of her ever since this continuation has started.

".........She says that once we saved the world and all, that then she'll come to see me. It's so that she won't get in the way when we go to battle..." Noellen tells me.

"Who's Rika?" Lewis asks, but everyone ignores him.

"Oh....So after all that...Are you to going to live with each other?" I ask. He's hesitant but in the end, he nods and says "I hope we can go back to our original relationship. Maybe even marry to stay together until our-err I should really be saying until her days end."

"Can't you turn her? Before it's too late?" I ask.

"Or yeah...We can go down that path...I didn't want to have to do that because I didn't want to inflict pain upon her but if.....It comes to a point where our love is even higher than the limit I've put for myself....I've no other choice to do it to keep her from leaving me from this world......So yes....I plan to marry her, confess to her my feelings again......I want to love her with all my might." He tells me.

"Whoo! Wait to go Noellen's future plans!" Lewis encourages.

I chuckle and then say "It matters to you a lot huh? Love.."

"Yeah...Love is a powerful thing yet it's also harmless....I'm sure you have your own feelings and maybe even someone who you like.....Let's see where your present actions will take you today, tomorrow, and in the future." Noellen advises.

I blush a little and glance over at Aaron. He's not looking back, it kind of disappoints me.

But what did I expect? For him to be my knight in shining armor? Impossible.

"Ha. Thanks for the advice." I tell Noellen. He nods and we continue our dinner in silence.

Once the fire is dim and every ones relaxing into sleep, I sit up against a rock near Aaron.

His beautiful long eyelashes and the what seems like smooth curves on his face features. I feel my cheeks warmth rise. I look quickly away before he notices.

Oh my god! I've grown intensely stalkarish over these past few days! Just how did I fall....In l-lo....LOVE...With this guy? What's so good about him?

I put the thoughts aside and turned on my left side. Just as I was closing my eyes, I leaned flat against my back for a more comfortable position.

I closed my eyes, but I did not lose to sleep. I was calmly, with my eyes closed, listening to the night sounds. The cicadas' chirp, the toads' bellow-y grouch, the peaceful river flow, and the slow swaying of the tree branches.

I just slowly began to doze into sleep, when I felt a force up against my lips. I also felt that of a presence looming in front of me.

 I quickly opened my eyes. The force pulls back. I'm mouth gaped, until something huge flies across the figure. It flips backwards and hops on the rock far opposite of mine.

"Show yourself!" Aaron ordered. That something huge, returns to Aaron. It seems like a large shuriken, circle and all black with silver sharp blades.

The figure obeys and hops down from the rock and slowly pears from the shadow.

"Wh-Who are you?" I ask. Yet another kiss was stolen from me. What am I, a kissing booth? Get a grip you people who randomly kisses girls!

"It is an honor to meet you Percy, in this form." The figure says, bowing to me, but glaring at Aaron.

When the figure completely shows itself in the fire blazing high, that which Aaron has revived, I gasp.

The human figure is male. He's wearing armor that's navy and silver. With a helmet covering his eyes, I can only make out a bundle full of what color hair he has. It's red. He has what seems like 3 red rich marks on his face. He has a menacing vibe, loyal but very bold. I felt like I've met him somewhere, but I'm not so sure, because I'm 100% sure that I've never met someone with red hair like him.

I hear Aaron sigh and sheath is weapon. Seems like he has more than one weapon.

"Rule 1. If you're going to join the gang, privacy. Meaning no one can kiss Percy. Rule 2. Loyal and trustworthy. I already see that in you. Rule 3. No violating or disturbing other's space. Got that?!" Aaron commanded.

The person didn't say anything. "Wait, why is it personally only Percy you can't kiss?" The person asks. His voice is deep and bold like his personality."That's not the point!" Aaron's trying to hide his embarrassment. I could careless about rules right now, all I want to know is, who is this guy?!

"Ah, someone remind me who this is?" I ask, interrupting their play/arguing time.

"Just remember what I told you. *Sigh* I'm going back to sleep." Aaron slumps back down and is silent again.

I'm still as hecked confused as any person who was going to save the world would be.

"Percy, my new and only master. Allow me to serve you. I will protect you and accompany you anywhere." He tells me.

Well, that did it. I'm flabbergasted. "I-I don't know who you are!" I say. "We've met before. At the sea, remember?" He asks.

"Ah, no. Nothings clicking." I tell him lamely and irritated.. "Then let me introduce myself once again."

The man kneels down on one knee in front of me, looking up at my flabbergasted face, he says "It is an honor to serve you. I'm Ava."
