Ch24: Summoners and Their Apetites

.....Then, my eyes fared to life, my heart beated as fast as the wings of bees, and everything was so fast, it was hard to believe that I could do that or if it was even me.

Instantly, I flicked my free hand, and appeared Queen Ignis. Fire emerged within me roaring, and shot up like geysers. It took Col by surprise, and I took that chance.

Like lightning striking the sky, with thunder roaring, and the after affects of the storm that passes by, I lanced the  blazing sword into the rags covering the boney chest of Col. He shrieked, he wailed, he swiped at me, he growled, and then came a large beam of pitch black that shot up into the sky. And Col disintergrated with wisps of gray smoke lingering around a sand timer and piles of black web like rags.

I heard my name called a few times in the forest behind me, turning around, Aaron and the rest of the gang appear from the forest.

"What happened?!" Aaron asks with little worry and more of anger once he sees the black dead path created by Col.

"Are you okay? We heard sounds an-" Valorie, worried probably to death like Tia, was cut off straight by Aaron.

"You should have came  right back to us! What were you thinking?! Tell me what happened! Percy?" Aaron cocked his head at me like he was seeing a rare specie. The gang neared as Aaron continued. "Percy? Are you alright? Percy!"

I slowly came to my knees and my eyes, unable to keep them open any longer, led me to the world beneath, unconscious. The last thing I saw was everyone rushing to my side, Melva suddenly appearing, and Kydan retrerating at the edges of the forest.

But what really caught my attention, was what I last heard, from deep inside of me. A strong female voice echoed, inside of me. "Well done~..."

I woke to a starry night and chirping cicadas, especially to the whispering of Tia and Valorie.

The gang was sitting around a campfire while I was laying a slight away from the whole. I slowly sit up silently, careful not to attract attention.

"So, you gonna tell us what happened?" I jump in surprise, when a silent Aaron comes into my view. He's sitting on a tree stump on my other side, far from the gang.

I sigh a relief and say to him quietly "Do you have to scare everyone with that scary poker face of your's?! And besides, where's Kydan?"

Blunt and non-caring, he answers "If you mean that dog, he ran off after you fainted. Now are you going to tell me, or am I going to have to force you to?"

I sigh and say "Fine fine. I don't want to repeat myself, so, let's go over there." I suggest. He nods and get's up, offering his hand. I take his hand thankfully.

Everyone sits and listens intently on me, as I explain and tell them the whole scene that happened between me and Col. Sometime later, Melva appeared, revealing herself to the gang.

"Uh, guys, I'm sure this is the first time you've seen Melva herself, but this sure isn't the first time you've heard of her." I tell them. They nod calmly without comment.

"Why am I not surprised, princess." Lewis comments unintelligently and jokingly, indicating me. I kick him on the side, getting a approving look from Valorie.

And then I suddenly remembered something." Holy Jesus Christ!" I though out loud. "I'm alive right?" I ask all of them.

The gang nodded slowly, surprised by my weirdness all of the  sudden.
