Colton's P.O.V

I walked off the bus awkwardly and threw my hand up into the air and waved to the mysterious people on the damp bus.  Walking up to the porch where my Aunt-who appeared to be very angry-stood was nerve-wracking, the pit in my stomach growing and growing till it was the size of a basketball.  I stepped onto the first step and my insides flipped.  My mind was running a million miles an hour.  There was something about her gaze that made me shake in my own skin.  Trembling, I took another step, and the familiar flipping sensation ignited.

What was she doing to me?

I was cut out of my train of thought by her screeching voice.  "Colton Elliots!" she screeched.

"Yes, Aunt Pat?" I questioned, lowering my head to the ground.

"I waited for you at the bus stop for 30 MINUTES!" she yelled.

"Sorry, I got lost in my thoughts and missed my stop."I explained walking past her into the house.  Hearing her foot steps behind me, I knew she followed me inside.  I was used to this, the getting in trouble for not thinking of others.  That has always been a weakness of mine.

"Bullshit!" she accused, not listening to a word I said.

I turned on my heel and started walking backwards, "Whoa!.. no need to swear Aunt Pat, sends a bad influence."  I retorted.

"Your Mother was right! I can't handle you!" she criticized herself.

"Come on Aunt Pat, I'm just playin' in fact I was going to ask you a few questions." I said walking into the kitchen and setting my bag down on the counter.

"What kind of questions?" Aunt Pat asked hesitantly, taking a seat.  I then took a seat across from her.

"Oh.. just... who's Daniel?" I narrowed my eyes at accusingly.  She looked taken aback, probably wondering how I came to know this information.

"How do you know about Daniel?" she questioned furrowing her eyebrows.

"Not important- Who is he?" I questioned for a second time, getting more curious by the second.

"NOT IMPORTANT! Of course it's important! I need to know who you're talking to!"  she dismissed my question.  Standing up, out of her seat.

"Hey, Aunt Pat, it's just a simple question.  No need to get worked up about it."  I said raising my hands in defence.

"You don't need to know about my private life, young man!" Pat pointed at me.

"I think I do, since I'm going to be living here for god knows how long!" I said raising my voice the longer I talk.

"Alright, you're right, Daniel he's..." she trailed off.  I raised my eyebrows at her, urging her to continue.  "He's my boyfriend, he lives here, but is out of town on a business trip." she sighed.

It made sense, I guess.  I have never been in her room.  I've haven't seen her cook.  Now I feel stupid, Aspen planted the info in my head and I didn't even think about it.  Usually I would but, it's not the first time.  Aspen but my mind into overdrive and I wasn't thinking about what I was doing?  She blocked everything in my mind with thoughts of those beautiful chocolate brown eyes.  I've got a major crush on the new mysteries girl, who just walked into my life.  I've had crushes before, but none of them have ever been so intense.  I barely just met this girl, and she's already messing with my head.

"Colton! You still with me?" My aunt brought me out of my thoughts, waving a hand in the front of my face.  I shook my head, clearing away any thoughts of black haired wonder.

"Are you okay Colton?" Aunt Pat said, placing a hand of my shoulder.  I shook my head 'no'.

"Do you know an Aspen Soni?" I asked, looking up at her.  She suddenly looked mad at me, but I didn't know what I did to make her so mad at me.

"Yes, and you are going to stay away from her." she said, walking around to start dinner.

"Why not?" I asked, because I was determined to know about my mystery girl.  Wait. Did I just say 'my'? Nahhh...

"Because I said so." she replied, cryptically.

"Thats not a valid reason, all I'm trying to do is make some friends, and she has none." I explained, I thought it was pretty nice.

"Why do you think she has no friends, Colton?  She's not friend material, and I forbid you to get involved with her." she said, I knew she meant it to be final.  But I'm not giving up on Aspen.

"Why isn't she friend material?  She seemed pretty nice today." I said, knowing it would get a rise out of her.

"End of discussion, Colton.  You are not to make friends with Aspen Soni." she said, edging on rage.

"No." I refused calmly.  She turned around to look at me, I saw the rage swimming in her hazel eyes.

"Go to your room, Colton.  NOW!" she emphasized the last word, pointing to the exit of the kitchen.

"No." I again refused.

"YES!" she yelled, her tone making me flinch.

"Fine," I muttered, heading to my room.  But I couldn't stop my thoughts running towards the subject of our fight.
