Gram

I walked out of school. Jen had been gone a week and I wasn’t giving up. I knew it wasn’t the witch because she was missing as well as William. Her parents hadn’t seen her, her friends hadn’t, and no one else had. I was starting to think maybe she was the one who was a dog. It wasn’t bad being a dog. And the side effects after words were nice. I could run faster, farther, longer. I could smell better, hear better, see better. I liked still having a little of dog left in me. It made me even better. I walked to my car and saw a man staring at it. “Can I help you?” I said as I approached.

“This yours?” he asked.

“Yeah, you got a problem with that.” I said getting ready to fight. Another side effect I like was that I was a fighter. I was always peaceful before but ever since it happened I was always on alert.

“My name is Jack Tanner. Do you mind if we talk?”

“What’s this all about?” I asked.

“Has anyone close to you recently disappeared?” I was stunned.

“Maybe, what’s it to you?” I said.

“I’m here to help” he said.

Jeremy

I felt alone. I was without the one person who mattered to me in this world and I felt like it was all over. I thought about killing myself but Melody wouldn’t want me to do that. I couldn’t hurt her. Even If she was gone. I was sitting outside the school waiting to be picked up. It was a warm afternoon. I checked my phone. I saw the photo of Melody I had set as my background. I stared at it for what felt like forever. I heard a car pull up and I put my phone away. It was an orange Dodge Charger. A man and a kid stepped out. The man used the door. He was wearing a dark suit. It wasn’t buttoned and he had no tie but he looked like he was determined. He wore sunglasses like the kind you see cops wear in movies and had short dark blonde hair. The kid on the other hand hoped out the widow of the driver’s side. He wore blue jeans and a T-shirt. He was wearing a letterman jacket even though it was like 70 degrees. His hair was like the mans but shorter and lighter.

“Excuse me, we’re looking for Jeremy Morgan” the man said. I swallowed hard and decide not to lie.

“I’m him. How can I help you?” I started to shake. I grabbed the first 2 fingers of my left hand with my right and rubbed my first knuckle. I know it’s weird but it’s something I’ve done for a long lime and I find it useful to relieve stress. The man and boy noticed. They looked at each other then back at me.

“Has someone close to you recently disappeared?” I was surprised.

“Yeah, a good friend of mine disappeared a few days ago.” I said. The man smiled.

“Good come with us”
