Seven Frosted Days

What lead to this?

We sat down in the sand, sitting their in silence watching the sun go down, but I didn't want the sun to go yet, just a little longer I thought. Stay a while longer. I wanted to chase after it, but it was gone within a second, taking all the light I could ever ask for along with it.

I turned to Rapunzel and took a deep breath. This was it I would tell her. I can't contain the words that belong out their inside me forever.

"Hey, Rapunzel......." I whispered.

"I don't want to break up." I said, now looking at the moon.

"I......I love you!" I said, my voice surged of embarrassment and courage.

She didn't seem flustered as I thought she would. She seemed calm. I stared at her searching for any hint that might of told me what she was thinking. She had a smile on her face, but it was small and so sad.

A conflicted look creased her face, and she looked like she wanted to say something, do something, yearned for something, but what?

Just when all this worry started leaking into me, Rapunzel turned pushed her lips on mine.

Her lips fit perfectly along mine like they always belonged there. It was perfect and gentle, but full of passion, and something else......... It felt like she was sending me a message of some kind? I was to happy to think much of it. She was kissing me and that's all that mattered to me at the moment! For a moment everything was perfect, for a moment I felt amazing for the first time in forever.

She softly pulled away, and gave me the same sad smile from earlier.

"Jack......" She said.

"I Can't Be With You." She said flatly.

She leaned in and breathed into my ear. Sent shivers down my spine.

"We should have never met."

I froze, confused. Did I hear her right? My body turned cold.

She slowly stood up and walked toward the Amusement Park.

"Good Bye, Jack." She called back

Don't.........

Don't.

Don't make it sound like I'll never see you again.

Don't make it sound like this is the end.

Because it's not.

When I could finally move my body I turned behind me, but she was already gone. The only trace of her was the foot prints she left behind. She was gone, but there was traces of her all over the beach.

What lead to this?
