Seven Frosted Days

Subtle Meaning

This week has passed really slowly partly, because my best friend Merida was non-stop talking about "Jack Frost". Although I never met the guy, and don't like making assumptions based on rumors he doesn't sound like a good person, and I'm afraid he's going to break Merida's heart. I tug at my hair nervously and occasionally bite my lip, today is Friday and I can only find out what will happen until after tomarrow. So all I can do now is wait, not patiently but waiting all the same.

When Saturday finally arrives I spent the day sprawled on my bed checking my phone every few seconds waiting for Merida's fateful text message.

At around 9:30 I wake up realizing I fell asleep, and immediately check my phone, there sitting in my notifications was a small text message saying "text me when you have the chance" and was waiting to be answered for an hour!!! I unlock my phone and turn "comforting friend" mode on. The second I open messages I apologize and explain what had happened. After that I call her phone and she opens after the third ring. When she doesn't say anything I start rambling on about how he didn't deserve her.

"Wahaghaaaaaaaaah!!" She replies to all my efforts.

She wipes all my comforts in one blow, and I don't know what to do, because Merida never cries!!! NEVER!!!!

"Merida" I say softly after a while of silently listening to her sob.

"Yeah....." She sniffles

"You must have really loved him, huh?" I ask

I feel her nod over the phone.

"Well, that doesn't matter now." I say sternly.

"Now, you got me and thats all you'll ever need!" I say loudly so she gets the point.

"......Yeah!" She says her voice getting more strength by the second.

"He's just a gosh darn playboy!" She goes on.

"I can't let his lies affect me!" She calls out.

"I don't need him! Thanks Punz!!" She yells triumphantly.

She tells me she will call me later and I agree, because I know she didn't actually get over him that quickly. I know that she needs some time to herself and to think about it, so I let her. She needs to handle this herself, and I know she doesn't really wanna talk about it.

On Sunday I got my hands on Jack's number from my "sources" and anonymously spammed his his messages the whole day. It was kinda funny they way he he answered "Who the hell are you!", "Stop texting me dude!!", and "Whhhyyyyy meeeeeeee!!!". I don't what people are thinking revenge is the best.

On Monday Merida hadn't come to school, and so I planned on giving Jack Frost a piece of my mind! I waited at his locker for 15 minutes in the morning, but he never came. Then I planned to approach him at lunch, but again he wasn't there! Then I decide that I would definitely catch him at the end of the day.

While waiting outside by Jack Frost's motorcycle I was quickly reviewing my words and actions towards Jack, and awkwardly stood there waiting there for him. Then I saw flash of Jack's snow white hair " it was kinda hard to miss " and gave chase after him.

"Hey!!" I call out to him.

When I finally caught up and grabbed his shoulder he jumped! He turned around and had a confused look plastered across his face when he saw me. "Like he didn't see this coming", but before I could sputter a word he grabbed my hand and pulled me behind a a door and slammed it shut!
