He was just so cute. His big doe eyes, his pretty tousled hair, his adorable little smile; Jongin just thought Kyungsoo was the most perfect person in the entire world. Of course, being at the tender age of six, Jongin hadn't met many people yet and the only people he had to compare Kyungsoo with was his classmates and idols he saw on the television but even then, the boy was more than positive nothing and no one could compare to his hyung. His hyung was ultimate perfection and he always looked after him. Because Jongin wasn't the most popular boy in his class, he had often sat alone at lunch and breaks and walked home alone too, Kyungsoo had somehow noticed him within the midst of the crowded school and they quickly became friends. After Kyungsoo walked into his life, Jongin didn't have to eat his cheese sandwiches alone. He didn't have to hide his uneaten chocolate bars because Kyungsoo had a serious obsession with them, so the left overs would always be eaten and Jongin could avoid being shouted at by his mother.Jongin also didn't have to walk home alone anymore either because he soon finds out that Kyungsoo lived just a few doors down from him. He had no idea how he hadn't noticed Kyungsoo before, but alas, Jongin wasn't complaining. At least he had Kyungsoo now. Months down the line after they become friends, Jongin begins to start feeling things for his precious hyung. He isn't sure what the feelings are but he knows they're definitely different to how he looks at idols or how he looks at the cute girls in his class. No, this was definitely different.Jongin had spent skipping his naps through out the days he was at home just day dreaming what it'd be like to hold Kyungsoo's hand and what it would feel like to hug him and pull on his cheeks. The thought of kissing Kyungsoo's lips didn't freak him out either, much compared to how frightened he got when he thought about kissing a girl. He didn't like that thought. He definitely liked to think about kissing Kyungsoo, though. Jongin keeps his fantasies to himself. He doesn't dare tell Kyungsoo about his dreams, not even when he's turning seven and Kyungsoo is turning eight. They've been best friends for a long year now, practically glued to each others hips.Kyungsoo has even stayed over his a few times but it seemed that Jongin stayed at the elder boys more than often. Jongin didn't mind, though. He enjoyed it more at Kyungsoo's, he had so many toys and lots of new films that Jongin had never watched. He had tons of cool coloring books that hadn't been touched and the two would just spend hours mindlessly enjoying each others presence. But when it was a nice day, they'd go outside and hang out. They'd either play football or venture off into the small woods behind Kyungsoo's house. It was nice there but Kyungsoo's mother didn't really like them going there (especially considering they'd always come back head-to-toe covered in mud.)But anyway, one day at Kyungsoo's house, Jongin decides he wants to go out. Kyungsoo doesn't object and let's the red pencil fall onto the coloring book before lifting himself off the floor and turning on his heel. Jongin is hot on his heel as they bolt downstairs and reach for their school shoes."Mum! Me and Jongin are going out!" Kyungsoo shouts as he tugs a shoe on."Ah, son, come here, let me check you!" His mother quickly rushes out of the kitchen and cups her son's chubby face. Somehow Jongin kind of wishes he was the one doing that. He'd always wanted to squish Kyungsoo's cheeks. "Please don't go far sweetie, you always worry me so much.. And you as well Jongin! Your mother would kill me if you disappeared. Don't let Kyungsoo talk you into doing nothing naughty, okay?" Kyungsoo's mother smiles warmly and ruffles Jongin's hair."Don't worry Mrs Do! We'll be good!" Jongin tells her happily, swaying on his feet."Good, I know you will be, it's him I worry about." After Kyungsoo receives a kiss on his head and a goodbye, the two boys are out and making their way down the road. They know where they're both going and it's to the forest. They won't go far because they know how Kyungsoo's mother gets but there's such a nice place where they always go and both seem to read each others minds.Five minutes later, they're walking across muddy paths and making their way to their special place. It's nothing much but there's one place in the forest where all there is are bushes covered in pretty pink flowers. Both boys really like being there and they've made it practically theirs by now. They even went as far to make a makeshift swing involving thick rope and a tire. It was perfect and they loved being there a lot.Jongin had other plans, though, on what he wanted to do here and it definitely wasn't pushing Kyungsoo around on the swing. But alas, Jongin is painfully awkward and shy and he finds himself just sitting in the midst of flowers on the floor, picking at them and watching his hyung swing himself around. Why can't I be confident like hyung? He asks himself, tossing a petal angrily, lips forming a small pout. He glances up at Kyungsoo through thick eyelashes. He was so perfect, it was almost unreal. Jongin watches him not so subtly for the longest time, just watching how Kyungsoo so carelessly throws himself around. Getting lost in the sight, Jongin has a sudden spurt of confidence and finds himself jumping to his feet and rushing towards the swing. He grabs either side, pulling Kyungsoo to a sudden stop."What's wrong? Did you want a turn?" Kyungsoo asks innocently, blinking a few times. Jongin's sudden confidence melts away within the blink of an eyelash."Uh.. Yeah.. If you don't mind of course.." Jongin mumbles quietly even though he had no real desire what so ever to play on the swing at all. He shifts out of Kyungsoo's way so the elder can climb out of the swing but doesn't move enough and their chests brush and Jongin feels his heart speed up.This definitely wasn't anything he's ever felt for anyone, let alone a girl. Kyungsoo must be special, he thinks."Hey, Kyungsoo, can I ask you a question?" Jongin asks quietly, wiping his nose on the palm of his hand and he stares at the floor as if it were interesting."Shoot away." Kyungsoo replies softly, turning on his heel to face Jongin."Well uh.. I was wondering whether you've had your first.. kiss yet?" Jongin asks, voice almost inaudible."Ah, no.. Not yet. Why have you?" Jongin shakes his head in reply."I-I was kind of wondering like.. if I could give my first kiss to.. y-you? If you wanted to of course.." Jongin's cheeks are flushing bright red as he averts his eyes from the floor and catches a glimpse of Kyungsoo's brown orbs staring straight back at him. Everything is quiet and Jongin half wonders why but then Kyungsoo is smiling."Sure. I guess it wouldn't hurt I mean, you're my best friend. Best friends do everything together, right?" Kyungsoo asks, stepping forward slightly so he was much closer to Jongin. The younger's heart is beating so fast he half wonders whether Kyungsoo can hear it."B-But uh.. I don't know h-how to kiss.." Jongin admits bashfully and Kyungsoo laughs lightly at him."Neither do I, I guess we'll have to learn each other." Kyungsoo is so close Jongin can practically taste his scent and it's making him dizzy. He would have loved to have been the one making the first move, but apparently, his shyness was clawing him down into the ground right now.Kyungsoo obviously noticing this smiles again."So I guess we just.. kind of pout our lips like this?" Kyungsoo shows Jongin how to pout his lips and the younger followers his lead."Then I think we just press them together. Like our lips.. Together.. You know what I mean." Kyungsoo laughs awkwardly because not only is Jongin nervous, but so is he. Jongin is nodding his head subtly before pouting his lips again."Okay, on the count of three. One, two.. three." Kyungsoo begins to lean forward, as does Jongin and seconds later, their lips are meeting in a chaste peck. Jongin's whole body suddenly feels so warm and he almost feels as if he could just jump into the air and scream because oh my god, he just kissed Kyungsoo."I don't think we did it right.." Kyungsoo mumbles quietly."Do you want to t-try again?" Jongin asks, voice shaking as are his fingers. Kyungsoo searches his eyes before nodding his head. This time Kyungsoo tilts his head slightly and doesn't pout his lips are much as he did prier and the second time that their lips meet, it feels a lot more natural.By the time the sun is beginning to set, Jongin counts that they share the total of five kisses. Well, at least what they count as kisses. Before they go home, Jongin picks out a pretty flower for Kyungsoo and shoves it behind his ear and smiles at him."Ah hyung, you're turning the shade of the flower." He giggles, Kyungsoo sticks his tongue at him and turns on his heel, mumbling about that he wasn't and Jongin was totally lying. On the way home, Jongin holds onto Kyungsoo's pinky finger lightly with his own. Jongin will never forget the day he lost his first kiss to the most perfect hyung in the world. He'll never forget how soft Kyungsoo's lips felt and how he felt almost as if he were floating on a cloud. Jongin realizes, no matter who he meets or what happens, nothing will compare to that first kiss or to Kyungsoo at that because Kyungsoo and kisses are the definition of perfection. Now that Jongin is sure of.
