● Kuroo Tetsurou : Longer

You wiped the remaining sweat off your chin and lifted up your sports bag. Your eyes moved towards the clock located on the gymnasium wall that was pointing at 9:30pm. As the Nekoma's girls volleyball team captain, you decided to stay behind to practice a bit longer than usual. You were finally done for the day and locked up the 2nd gymnasium before heading out. In the gym across, you could see the lights on.

"Lev-kun is still here?" you thought and headed for the opened door. The sounds of the ball colliding with the floor could be heard as you peeked in to see a different figure.

"Oh, Kuroo-kun," you widened your eyes. He was about to throw the ball but stopped when he heard your voice. He turned his head towards you and smiled, "Ah! (L/N)-san! Could you set me some balls?"

You chuckled at him and look at the time. It wouldn't hurt to set him a couple volleyballs. You placed your sport bag next to his and headed towards the net and basket full of volleyballs.

"You're staying quite late today?" you asked and chuckled. He nodded and indicated that you can set the ball. You did as told and set the ball towards him. The tall male jumped and his right palm collided with the volleyball sending it towards the other side of the net.

"I was just waiting for you," he gave you a smirk. You stared at the boys' volleyball captain and scoffed. He was always like this towards girls. You decided to set a ball that was higher and longer than before. Kuroo had to shift to the far right of the court and spiked the ball barely despite being known as one of the best attacker on the team.

"I guess these late night practices don't help you at all huh captain?" you joked and crossed your arms. He shrugged it off and smirked, "Would you help me then (L/N)-san? I suddenly forgot how to spike."

You widened your eyes in shock. You were expecting him to shoot back one of his dumb remarks. From where Kuroo stood, he could see the slight tint of pink on your cheeks. He walked towards you and grabbed a volleyball into his hands.

"Teach me your skills," he said with such confidence. You shifted your eyes to the clock and shook your head.

"I have to head home," you put your hands up in apologies. "Maybe next time?"

Kuroo pouted and as you headed for your sports bag, he stopped you mid-way.

"At least let me walk you home then?" he offered with a soft smile. You could feel your heart beating faster and faster. You raised a brow and tried to act normal, "I guess you can."

He excitedly smile and had asked you to wait a minute while he cleaned up. Once Kuroo was done, he grabbed his sports bag and headed out of the gym with you. He locked the doors and both of you walked towards the front gates of Nekoma High.

"How's Lev-kun doing with his volleyball practices?" you brought up a topic to ease away the silence. Kuroo nodded, "He's improving slowly but he'll get there soon. His heights been an advantage for him but his skills are that of a 5 year old kid. Heck I think 5 years olds are even better."

You chuckled and shook your head, "Lev-kun is actually a very decent player you know? When we practice together he was able to get my quick sets surprisingly."

"Maybe because your sets aren't that quick," Kuroo laughed earning a smack in the arm from you. You crossed your arm and glared at him.

"You have Kenma-san who is super smart and his thoughts are that of a genius," you added. "Of course I can never get to that level."

"Oi, I wasn't saying that you suck at setting," Kuroo suddenly felt remorse for what he had said to you. You rolled your eyes, "Sureeee."

You increased your pacing and went ahead of him. Kuroo cursed to himself and quickly tried to catch up to you. He spotted a convenience store coming to view and an idea popped in his head. Kuroo ran past you and his hand grabbed yours. You were shocked and was pulled along by his strong force.

"Let's get some ice cream!" he turned to look at you and laughed. Your heart began thumping incredibly fast again. You weren't even sure if it was just you or the moon, but Kuroo was shining despite his dark features. Both of you soon came to a stop, he told you to wait outside as he headed in to grab the ice cream. You stared at the ground trying to calm down your beating heart which hasn't stopped since. Without realizing, Kuroo held the pink ice cream towards you.

"In apologies for what I said earlier," he gave you a soft smile. It was definitely not helping you. You took the ice cream quickly and thanked him. The two of you continued down the road towards your house. You came across the train tracks where Kuroo would split ways with you but he didn't.

"You're not going home?" you asked turning to look at him. He flicked your forehead lightly, "I said I was going to walk you home right?"

You scowled and rubbed your forehead to ease the pain away, "You don't have to flick my forehead meanie!"

He chuckled and apologized, "I'm sorry, I just find it cute when you're angry."

"W-what?" You widened your eyes at his words. He realized what he said and turned to the side quickly, "Ah, we're at your house already."

You turned to see the familiar building before you. It sounded like he didn't even want to leave yet.

"Uh...thank you for walking me home," you bowed to him. He gave you his usual smile, "Anytime, (L/N)-san."

You nodded and was about to turn and head in when Kuroo called your name.

"(L/N)-san," he said. You glanced up to look at his face, only to be met with his chest. He had pulled you into a hug without you realizing it.

"A-actually, just a little bit longer," he mumbled the rest under his breath. You heard his words clearly though and stared blankly at his chest. With your cheeks flushing red, you backed away.

"Are you out of lines to use on girls?" you tried to push the fast pacing of your heart off. Kuroo laughed it off and pat your head, "I'll see you tomorrow."

He headed off as you watch his tall, slim figure disappear into the night. You managed to get yourself to your bedroom before collapsing onto the floor. Your hand reached to your heart and you could feel it to the point where at any second it could burst out. You were confused and your mind was filled with various questions. What did he mean when he said that? Why is your heart beating so fast? But despite all that you oddly felt happy. Without realization, a small smile appeared on your lips before you headed off to sleep that night.
