The city was busy once again as the sun rose up high to the sky. Streets were crowded with cars and the sidewalks were crowded with people. Among them was tall male figure with light brown hair that seemed to be styled nicely down. He was dressed in a formal black suit and was strolling the street. If he remembered clearly it was the same day. The exact same day 5 years ago when you left him. His heart was feeling heavy from seeing the date on his calendar that was placed on his desk and so he wanted to go out for a small walk. But it didn't seem like anything was helping him. Around the scenery, it was as if your figure would appear and then disappear in a flash.
"...I wonder how you are..." He mumbled and stare at the busy streets. How were you now? Are you doing better? Did you find someone who could love you more than he did? So many questions roamed his head. Just exactly where were you in this time of place. He remembered how things started between you and him and how it ended so quickly. You were different from the rest of the girls he was showered with. There may be some traits that was similar but only you stood out from the rest and he liked that about you. You were strong and always spoke your mind. Thinking about you made him chuckled. He remembered how other than Iwa-chan, you were the only other one to call him an idiot and cursed at him whenever he did something so cheesy. But then it all comes down back to him. It was his fault that all the happiness between you and him were now gone with the wind and nothing was left behind. His smile slowly then faltered as he reached the lights. His eyes wandered to the road and he saw a little figure running on the street reaching for a volleyball. His legs reacted and raced towards the little figure. His arms grabbed the boy and the ball before any car could collide into them. They made it safe back to the sidewalk and he set the boy down.
"Are you okay?-" he asked and took a look at the boy's face clearly. His heart stopped and his eyes felt like tears were forming. Those eyes he remembered clearly. They were exactly like yours.
"(F/N)..." the name mumbled out of his mouth. The little boy tilted his head.
"Oni-san, you know my mama?" the little voice asked. He widened his eyes, "Your mother is (F/N)?"
The little boy brightly smiled and nodded, "That's my mama's name!"
His heart was beating fast again like the first time he met you.
"Mama had to go somewhere," the boy said and pouted. "She told me to wait outside but the people pushed me away from her."
The boy was about to cry when he lifted the boy up and smiled, "I'll help find your mama, ok?"
"Really?" the eyes lighted up and it made his heart filled with happiness.
"Say, what's your name?" he asked. The little boy laughed and smiled, "Tetsuya! How about you oni-san?"
"A-ah, call me Oikawa-san!" He chuckled and took the boy down the road to the last shop you went to. His hand was held tightly with the boy. The two of them stopped at the shop only to see that you weren't in there. Oikawa went in to ask the cashier and was told that you left already. With no luck there, he took Tetsuya down the road again.
"Where's mama?" Tetsuya was becoming sad. Oikawa quickly bent down and cheered him up with a treat to the ice cream stand at the park. Tetsuya immediately changed back to his bright side and nodded his head. The two headed down towards the nearby park and Oikawa bought two ice cream. They sat down and ate it away enjoying themselves with the park scenery. Oikawa's eyes wondered and landed on the volleyball beside Tetsuya.
"You like to play volleyball?" he asked. Tetsuya nodded and held the ball close to his chest, "My papa is a great volleyball player!"
Hearing that Oikawa was curious just who was Tetsuya's father. His thoughts were interrupted when he heard your voice.
"Tetsuya?!"
It wasn't far from them, in fact it came from behind them. The two turned their heads to see you and a taller make with black hair standing beside you. Both of your faces were filled with worry until seeing him and Tetsuya.
"Mama! Papa!" Tetsuya got off the seat and ran towards you. Your arms opened and you hugged him tightly.
"Oh my baby!" you said and didn't want to let him go. "I'm so sorry!"
From afar Oikawa watched you and your son's reunion. Seeing you again his heart was feeling lighter than it was that morning. He grabbed the volleyball and headed towards you three. You lifted Tetsuya into your arms and looked up. Your eyes widened and you couldn't believe who was standing in front of you.
"O-Oikawa?" his name came out of your mouth.
"Mama! Oikawa-san save me and bought me ice cream!" Tetsuya said and smiled towards him. You looked at your husband and he understood as he took Tetsuya into his arms.
"Let's go get some drinks for mama and her friend Tetsuya," your husband said before leaving. Once the two were out of sight it was silent between you and Oikawa.
"He has your eyes," he said to break the awkward tension. "And his father's smile."
"Ah...yeah," you said and glanced at the ground. "How are you?"
"Oh, I retired from volleyball to take over my father's business," Oikawa replied and slightly smiled. "It's been quite hectic in the office."
You softly laugh and smiled, "That's good to hear."
"And you seem to be living wonderfully," he added with a sincere smile. "I'm happy to see that."
"Oikawa..." you looked at him. You knew deep down he was still blaming himself for what happened years ago.
"I have to admit, I am jealous," he stated and chuckled. "Tetsuya is lucky to have you and your husband as parents."
"Thank you," you smiled. It was something Oikawa had missed in so long. Your husband was soon back with Tetsuya and the drinks. Tetsuya handed one to Oikawa and then to you.
"Ah, I'm Kuroo Tetsurou," your husband introduced himself. "I apologize for not introducing myself earlier."
Oikawa shook his head and smiled, "I'm Oikawa Tooru."
After a small chat, you were all ready to part ways. Before leaving you brought out your husband's business card and handed it to Oikawa.
"If there's ever anything you need you can give us a call," you said. Oikawa looked at the card and shook his head, "I'm good, (L/N)-san. Thank you."
He bowed and bid goodbye before turning his back on you. You watched as he walked away. He was lucky enough to see you once again today. And after this day ends, he was to cut all ties to you. He loved you once and was glad to. You have now moved on and created a beautiful family full of wonderful people and he was happy to know that. Because you didn't deserve the way he was treating you. You deserve the love Kuroo was giving to you now along with Tetsuya. All Oikawa ever was to you now is a memory, hopefully you'll once look back at and smiled to know you had too once loved him.
