It was a long almost 3 hours ride before the bus loaded with first year students from Nekoma High arrived at the Kagura ski resort in Yuzawa. They were on a field trip to enjoy 3 days and 2 nights as a break. You turned to your best friend who was already dying to go skiing. She grew up taking a lot of trips to the mountains to do just that while you nearly had little to no experience at all.

"I can't wait to taste the snow!" she was certainly energetic and happy. You gave her a weird look, "Taste? You don't really mean that do you, Hanako-chan?"

Hanako laughed and shook her head, "Of course not silly!"

She grabbed her backpack and motioned you to head out of the bus. You stepped out as the cold weather hit your warm cheeks. You shivered and hug yourself tighter as the head teachers in charge of the trip began counting students before entering the resort's sleeping cabins.

"Are you excited?" Shibayama asked while walking beside you. You shrugged, "I don't know how to ski but hopefully it turns out okay."

"I'll teach you then," he smiled before chuckling. "It's not that hard, (L/N)-san."

You turned your head to the side to hide your blushing face while slowly nodding your head. Shibayama had been your crush since the entrance ceremony into high school. You met eyes with him among all the students that was there and eventually somehow was able to grow a friendship with him. He was busy often after school due to his volleyball club practices and you were busy with studying. This led to both of you heading home the same direction often.

Once everyone was inside the building of the sleeping cabins, the teachers split students up into males and females before grouping them separately into groups of 4. You and Hanako were fortunate to have each other as roommates and headed to the desired room with the number on the door. While putting your bags away and setting down into the room, Hanako was rushing so she could get out and into the cold world.

"I heard it's going to snow a lot tonight," she smiled brightly. "That means a better slope for tomorrow!"

"Eh," you were trying to catch on but Hanako was always a fast talker. You only chuckled and nodded, "You should teach me how to ski, Hanako-chan."

She immediately shook her head before elbowing you, "Shibayama-kun said he would teach you so let's stick to that plan."

"E-eh," you could feel your cheeks heat up. Hanako earned a playful slap to the arm before the two of you left the room. Although there is a certain schedule of what to do, the majority of the time there was for students to enjoy. There was only rules that required them to be at the cabins before 8pm. Since there was still half the day left, Hanako brought you to rent skiing equipments and started off for the small slope. You were struggling trying to put everything on and lost balance. Before colliding with the cold snow, a pair of arms caught your body.

"Nice recieve!" Hanako shouted and gave your savior a thumbs up. "No wonder you're a libero!"

"Are you okay, (L/N)-san?" Shibayama asked, his face only centimeters away from yours. You quickly got up and apologized before assuring him that you were fine.

"I'm heading for the big slope, care to join me, Inuoka-kun?" your best friend asked and dragged Shibayama's friend away before he could answer her. You groaned on the inside knewing she purposedly did it so you can be alone with Shibayama.

"Well since we're out here, want me to teach you the basics of skiing on the small slope?" Shibayama asked while looking at you. You avoided eye contact and slowly nodded, "Sure, I'll warn you beforehand though that I have no clue on what to do."

He genuinely chuckled before putting out his hand, "Are you ready?"

You stared at his hand for a couple of seconds before taking it. His warmth collided onto your palms and within seconds you could already feel your heart beating feriously. Your cheeks were heating up and fortunately you had a scarf to cover them from Shibayama's view. The two of you made it to the top of the small slope. He gave you some tips and the instructions of starting off. You listened closely to his words and placed them into your mind. He showed an example first and waited at the end of the slope for you. Shibayama waved and gave you an 'okay' hand signal. You prompted your feet like he said and slowly pushed yourself towards the down slope. You started off great but as excitement got to you, so did misfortunes. You lost balance and fell at the end of the slope. Shibayama quickly rushed to your side and helped you up.
