● Akaashi Keiji : Searching For You

You grew up being the closest to Akaashi. You knew every little detail about him and that was exactly how you grew to fall in love with him. He was always so blunt and so emotionless but it was only you who saw the other side of him. A side in which didn't seem like it would exist. He enjoyed being the setter on the boys' volleyball team of Fukurodani Academy and also pin pointing Bokuto's foolish remarks. You looked back up onto the volleyball court and pushed up your glasses. He was working hard as always with his teammates. To you, he was the only one who stood out on the court. Whenever you watched him play, he was always shining. But it wasn't going to be long before you wouldn't be able to see his shining figure and his smile. It was during your last year of middle school when you found out about the illness in your eyes. There has seem to be no cure and so your eyes were to only be getting worst to the point where you won't be able to see anything but blackness. Your eyes wondered to Akaashi and he waved towards you. You smiled at him and waved.

"I want to see him go to nationals once more before it happens," you thought and smile to yourself. The volleyball practice was over with and soon enough you headed towards Akaashi. He bid goodbye to his teammates and both of you exit the gymnasium. He walked beside you in silence as the two of you headed for the bus stop.

"You're awfully quiet tonight," he spoke up. "Something on your mind?"

You smiled and looked at the stars starting to appear on the darkening sky.

"Keiji-kun..." you mumbled. He looked at you with his slight grey-blue eyes, "Hm?"

You turned to him, "You have to go to nationals again!"

He looked at you confused for a second before letting out a soft chuckle. His hand landed on top of your head and the smile you loved the most appeared.

"Of course I'm going to nationals (F/N)-san~" he messed with your hair and pulled his hand back. You nodded and fixed your glasses again. You pulled out your hand and stuck your pinky out, "Promise?"

His hand was brought over to you and his pinky linked with yours.

"I promise," his smile was shown again and his teeth were revealed. Akaashi walked you home like the usual and made sure you were inside your house before leaving. You headed up to your room when your mother stopped you.

"When are you going to tell him sweetie?" she asked. You looked down, "After nationals mom. I'll tell him after he reaches the nationals tournament."

Your mother nodded and was about to head back inside the kitchen but you stopped her this time.
"Mom, can I transfer to the new school after?" you asked. She looked at you and nodded her head. You headed off to sleep that night with a heavy heart.

Your check up with the eye doctor the next day made you feel worse. He prescribed another pair of different glasses which came with the conclusion that you had about a month left before you completely go blind. You shook you head in denial.

"I-is there no other way to extend my time?" you asked. The doctor shook his head, "I can prescribe some specific eye drop medications but the least it can do it slow down the process by a small amount."

You hung your head and stared at the floor that was starting to become blurry with tears forming in your eyes. The spring tournament wasn't until after break and the final round would be at least 3 weeks after. You wouldn't be able to see him before you completely go blind. You bid goodbye and left the hospital with your mother. The ride home was silent and gloomy. Your mother dropped you off at home to get some rest while she headed out to get your new pair of glasses. You headed for your room and entered your bed. The thought of never being able to see the beautiful world and Akaashi's smile again made you fear of losing your eye sight. Why did it had to be you? You began to sulk again as the negative thoughts took over your mind. You cried yourself to sleep and was awaken later that night.
