"Names, please?" Mr. Turner asked the two girls staring blankly at them.

The tall girl spoke for the both of them. "Jessie Cartwright & Delilah Hard away."

I had to refrain from saying anything, from getting out of my seat to see if it were really her, she looked so different, nothing like the girl I watched disappear into the sea of students for the last time, four years ago. But, what if this were all some coincidence? There was no way I'd believe it were actually her, she didn't look like herself.

As her friend took the seat in front of me, I looked at her face and searched for the thing that would tell me if this was her, the one thing that made her stand out in middle school. Just as she glanced at me, I saw it, the "L" shaped scar on her jaw from the incident with Derrick. I remember that day, her laying at the bottom of the stairs with a mixture of dirt and blood in her face. I was scared and mad, so I hit Derrick.

Throughout the class period I kept trying to steal glances but Ty Hanson would always think that I was staring at him and would try to talk to me, so I'd left it alone after a while.

The minute the bell rang I was the first person out of class, I knew she'd walk over to her friend to wait for her and I didn't want to just be there staring. I took a place in the center of the football players as they were talking and looked up just in time to see her walking out of the class room.

"Dude, come back to Earth!" Ty yelled waving his hand in front of my face.

"Huh?" I said snapping my focus back to their conversation.

"What are you looking at, anyway?" A tall blonde named Ken asked me.

"N-Nothing.  I was just um.... Looking out the window." I lied.

Just then Ty looked back and saw where Delilah stood talking to her friend.

"Oh, it makes sense now." He said smiling at me.

"What?" Ken and I asked in unison.

"You're not as slick as you think, Delgado. Looks like our friend here has got himself a sweet tooth." Ty grinned throwing his arm around my shoulder.

"What the hell are you talking about." I asked as we made our way down the hall.

"No what. More like who. Hardaway. The chocolate girl that sits behind me in World History. You've been staring at her since she walked into that class." He explained.

"Just because I looked at her doesn't mean that I like her." I said rolling my eyes.

"Looking? No sir-y Bob, you my friend were staring. All I know is whatever you're doing you'd better not let the wicked witch see you doing it." Ty said as we approached my next class.

"Whatever man, I'll see you guys after lunch." I said heading into the classroom.

....

I really wish I were somewhere else and better yet, I wish I never told Katie about the yellow car that stole my parking spot. It had turned out that the car was Delilah's and now Katie was causing a scene and Delilah seemed to be enjoying it, which was way different that this morning.

With my luck, Delilah's friend from earlier had come and they pulled off, but just because they'd left didn't mean that Katie was done.

Katie always had to get the last punch and I knew she wouldn't stop until Delilah was on her knees begging for her to quit.

"I hate her! And I will ruin her!" She said stopping off.

"Here we go again." I sighed, following her to my car.
