Delilah POV
Well, here we are on this dreary Monday morning, no sun just grey clouds. To make matters worse Jess was gone for the week, her family had this thing they did every year where they left civilization to be one with nature. Meaning I had to face the awkward situation that was Tomas Delgado, alone. Of course I had Alex but I only saw him during lunch and art, the two times I didn't see Tomas.
After what happened Friday night, I really didn't want to look at him, so my outfit was organized for stealth. Today I was wearing my black Thrasher hoodie, black skinnies, and black chucks, of course I would have to put my hood on so my hair was braided into two braids.
I parked farther away from the building than usual, I usually parked next to Tomas, right in front of the building, and hopped out of my car throwing my bag over my shoulder and my hood over my head, I kept my eyes on the ground and headed into the building.
I slipped past Tomas and his friends who were all gathered around his car, no one even glanced at me, mission one complete. As I walked into the building I threw my hood off and went to my locker. I really couldn't figure out what I was going to need so I was just standing there staring in my locker, looking dazed and probably high.
"Hey."
The voice scared me and honestly almost made me jump to the ceiling. Scowling, I turned around to Alex, who was now laughing.
"That's not funny. You scared me! I got the chills and everything, Alex!" I yelled hitting him with my notebook.
"I'm sorry! I didn't know!" He replied still laughing.
"Why were you just standing there anyway?" He asked finally calming down."I was trying to figure out what I needed for class today." I whined shutting my locker.
I picked up my bookbag, but before I could put it over my shoulder Alex grabbed it and threw his arm over my shoulder. Without a doubt this earned me glares from every girl in the hallway.
"If only they knew." I said causing both me and Alex to laugh.
I grabbed my book bag from Alex's shoulder and threw it onto mine as we stopped in front of the locker by my first period.
"So, we on for lunch, right?" He asked.
"Well, I'm not going to eat by myself. Jess isn't here remember? Plus I gotta tell you some stuff."
As soon as I said that his eyes lit up and he moved in closer to me, now to people glaring at us, it looked like we were being "coupley", but Alex just liked gossip.
"Dirt?" He asked.
"The dirtiest, dirt you'll ever hear." I said poking his chest.
" You'd better not be hyping this up Delilah." He warned.
"I promise, I'm not." I said as soon as the bell rang.
"I'll see you then alright?"I was the second to last person to walk inside of the classroom, there was no way to avoid the stare from Tomas. I knew that he saw what happened with Alex and he probably thought, like everybody else that we were a couple, and that would explain why he looked so jealous.
Mr. Turner finally came after five minutes of Tomas staring at me and me trying to pretend like I didn't notice.
"OK, let's jump right in, you guys have a Social Studies fair project." He announced.
"You can't work alone, only two to a pair and you can't chose your own partner. Your partner will be the person on your row. The first two people and so on." He continued.
