Madison Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Chapter 19: Of Sass and Sarcasm and Suspensions

On Saturday afternoon after Quidditch practice, I would love to say that I had a fun time relaxing and doing my homework with Hermione in the library.

That's not how it happened.

Not even bothering to change out of my stinky and disgusting practice outfit (which consisted of black basket-ball shorts and an old T-Shirt from St. Grogory's Primary School from fifth grade that was just fitting me now (it was an XXXL) and a pair of high tops), I barged into Dumbledore's office with a snarl on my face.

"Miss Potter-" the geezer began.

"No. Don't you 'Miss Potter' me! If you distrust me so much, then why don't we call each other by something very polite? Like... Like... Git! Because that's what you are!"

He raised a silvery eyebrow at me. His blue eyes had no twinkle.

"I will not call you something impolite, Madison," the Geezer replied.

My face heated up with anger.

"But you do not deny that you don't trust me!" I exclaimed before putting an excellent silencing charm on the door, if I do say so myself.

He offered me a chair, but I declined his invitation.

I'm such a rebel.

"I do not trust you," Dumbledore admitted.

"Really? Oh, isn't that pleasant news?" I sarcastically remarked.

The geezer glared at me. I kicked a chair.

"Why don't you trust me? After all I've done?" I questioned.

"Because I see too much of Tom Riddle in you," he informed me.

I felt like laughing.

"Oh? Really? Maybe it's because when I was twelve, I was possessed by Tom fucking Marvolo Riddle!" I screamed at him.

"Maybe," he calmly stated. "But there is something else I see in you too."

I laughed. "And what is it? A bunch of organs? Do you have X-Ray vision?"

"Yes, actually," he replied. "But you are too much like Riddle."

Fury was released inside of me.

"That's the funniest thing that I've heard all day! If I'm like Riddle, then you're a Christmas Tree!" I cried out.

"We both very well know that I am not a Christmas Tree."

I glared at him. "What do you see in me?"

"Anger," he simply stated. "And Riddle had a lot of it."

I snorted. "Of course I'm angry, you dolt."

I paced the office, fighting the urge to throw things.

"You don't want me to venture with Ron, Hermione and Harry because you fear that I will kill them in the night. That's the reason you want me to become a Death Eater is not to become a spy for you... It's to get me out of the way!

"Well, I will tell you what Albus fucking Dumbledore, I will not become a Death Eater! I do not betray my friends, and I never will!

"And there is something else, too, isn't there? You have a younger sister! And you killed her."

I had cut deep there; I didn't care. I was saying what was on my mind.

"Madison, go home for a few days. You need rest."

"I don't have a home! Hogwarts is my home! Or, did you forget that you placed my brother and I on a freaking door step when we weren't even two years old?" I asked him sarcastically.

"Go to the Burrow. We will not speak of this again. I will have your homework sent to you daily by Tonks."

"Are you suspending me?" I asked, unbelieving what I was hearing.

"Yes. I will see you next week, Madison."

He pointed a finger at me and I was suddenly at the Burrow, tears suddenly streaming down my face.

"Hello? Who is it?" Mrs. Weasley's voice called out.

"Hello, it's me," (A/N: I WAS WONDERING IF AFTER ALL THESE YEARS YOU'D LIKE TO TALK) I cried out.

"Madison? Oh, uhm, what does my husband like to call me in private?"

I told her softly, "Mollywobles."

"Oh, Madison! Dumbledore sent an owl saying you've been suspended- he didn't give any details-"

"Of course he wouldn't," I muttered. "He will deny anything."

"Do you want to talk about it?" Mrs. Weasley asked me, sitting the two of us down on the couch.

I nodded and began. "Dumbledore wants me to become a spy- a Death Eater. I confronted him about it today, and he said it was because he saw too much of Riddle in me. He didn't trust me... So naturally I got rather mad at him, and started yelling at him. He didn't like what I had to say, so he suspended me."

"That doesn't sound like Dumbledore..."

"Well, I suppose he's a very complex character. He'd be portrayed perfectly by Michael Gambon (A/N: I JUST BROKE THE FOURTH WALL, NOOBS!)," I told her.

Mrs. Weasley nodded in agreement.
