Chapter 22: The Quidditch Match

Breakfast, of course, is the most important meal of the day.

Like every breakfast here at Hogwarts, this morning was an exciting time.

The members of Slytherin booed at us as the Gryffindor team entered the  Great Hall.

I came at sat down next to my brother, Ron and Hermione across from us.

Ron was nervous.

"Tea? Coffee? Pumpkin juice?" Harry asked.

"I would love some pumpkin juice, thanks for asking Harry," I replied, knowing that he was talking to Ron. He had told me of his plan last night.

"Not for you! You can serve yourself perfectly well last time I checked."

I huffed and pored myself a cup milk.

"Anything," Ron replied to my brother.

"Alright," Harry replied, carefully giving Ron a glass of pumpkin juice. "There you go."

Ron was just about to drink it when Hermione shrieked, "Don't drink it, Ron! They've put something in your drink!"

Harry quickly slid the bottle back into his robe pocket.

"What are you talking about, Hermione?" The two of us replied in harmony.

"You put something-" Hermione began to accuse once more.

"No, we didn't. Honestly, don't you trust us?" I asked her, giving her big puppy dog eyes.

She sighed. Ron got up and left and she pulled us two aside.

"You put something in his drink-"

"What about you, Hermione? Confound anybody lately?" Harry asked her.

Hermione huffed and stormed off. Something clicked in my mind. That was why McCormac couldn't score those last few goals at try outs...

"Come on," I told my brother. "We better get going."

We began to make our way to the locker room, Ron in tow.

"Pretty good weather," I remarked.

"Yeah," Ron replied.

Ginny and Demelza were already in their robes and waiting in the locker room.

"Guess what? The chaser for Slytherin- Vaisey- took a bludger to the head yesterday at practice, and he's too sore to play! And even better- Malfoy's gone off sick too!"

I grinned. This was amazing.

Soon, the whole team walked out to the field. Most of the Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws had sided with Gryffindor. I saw Luna wearing her lion hat.

"Captains, shake hands," Madam Hooch commanded Harry and Urquhart, the Slytherin captain.

And then...

We were off!

There was a commentator that was different than Lee Jordan, and I sort of felt a bit sad.

"Well, there they go, and I think that we are all shocked to see the team that Harry Potter has put together this year. Didn't expect Ron Weasley to be keeper, nor Ginny Weasley to be a chaser. Madison, of course, is still on the team."

I glanced down at the commentator. It was Zacharias Smith, a Hufflepuff who annoyed me to death.

"Here comes Slytherins first attempt on a goal- Ron Weasley saved it, well he's bound to get lucky some times."
