Chapter 27: Whelp, I Guess Our Seeker's Out

I knew that Ron and Lavender had broken up, and Hermione and Ron were suddenly very... Close. Almost like they had a secret- or something happened that day where Ron was in the hospital wing and said Hermione's name. Maybe something happened after Harry, Ginny and I left.

Harry's crush on Ginny was getting deeper and deeper. Dean and Ginny had broken up, which I found to be very good, because I honestly felt that Dean wasn't good enough for Ginny. Harry, however, was. The two would be perfect together.

And if Ron gets mad about it, I'm pretty sure Hermione and Ron will be a thing, so I'm sure Harry will be a little pissed yet happy. Hermione, after all, is like our sister.

Anyway, Ron was now seventeen- he was now an adult. Well, an adult in the Wizard World. It's rather weird, because Ron acts like anything but an adult.

While on the subject of being of age, Harry and I were still sixteen. The youngest of our little group of misfits. And I was the youngest out of Harry and I. It kind of sucked.

Anyway, on the morning of March 15th, somebody on the Quidditch team arrived.

"Happy March 15th! The Ides of March are upon us!" I exclaimed as I sat down at the table in the Great Hall.

"Okay? But guess whose back?" Hermione asked me.

"Who?" I replied, bored.

"Katie," Hermione replied.

I gave her a look that said I-bet-Harry-already-asked-if-she-was-ready-to-play.

"Yeah," Hermione replied to my look. We knew each other so well, it was uncanny.

I let out a groan.

"God, as much as I love my brother- mind you, I kind of have to- he can be a total idiot sometimes," I told her, eating my Cocoa Puffs quickly.

"Tell me about it. Did you know that just the other day, he apparently-" Hermione began to say, only to be interrupted by a glum Harry coming back to the table.

"What's wrong, brother of mine?" I asked him as Ron came back from talking to Ginny about something.

"I just got suspended from the Quidditch team," he told me, not exactly looking into my eyes.

I grabbed a book and hit him on the shoulder with it.

"YOU WHAT!?" I yelled out.

"I, uh-" Harry began to say.

I grabbed his hand and pulled him out of the Great Hall and down to the courtyard.

"What. Did. You. Do!?" I yelled at him, anger in my voice.

"I might have attacked Malfoy with a spell from the Prince's book. It was really bad... It... Kinda tore up his chest, and he was bleeding profoundly and twitching?" He said, still avoiding my eyes.

I felt one of my eyes twitching in anger. "You... You... You..."

He took a step back from me; he didn't want to be on the receiving end of my anger, despite the fact that he already was.

"So... I can't exactly do Quidditch anymore. Not this year, anyway. So you're officially the stand in captain, and no longer the assistant captain..." He told me, sheepishly.

"And Katie isn't up to it, is she?" I said, knowing the answer already.

"No, she isn't. So you kind of have to find either a new seeker or if you fill in for me, a new chaser," Harry told me.
