Ignoring the looks she was getting, Victoria stormed out of the Potion's classroom alongside Harry and Ron “He is horrible!” she stated, clutching her potions book tightly in one hand.

“I heard that he favored Slytherin students, but I didn't know it was that true” mumbled Ron, before looking at Harry “I don't know why he hates you so much” he said, the professor was the hardest on Harry.

That was one of the reasons why Victoria thought he was horrible, but she made one tiny mistake and he snapped at her like if it was one of the biggest mistakes in the world. And he took two points for Harry for things he couldn't really control.

Harry just shrugged, his spirits were low from that and he couldn't seem to keep his mind from racing. He didn't do anything to make Professor Snape hate him, did he? He couldn't possibly, it was only his first week here.

Victoria shut her eyes to try and calm down, and not chuck her book at a wall “Harry, cheer up. Snape is always taking points off of Fred and George” said Ron, trying to make seem what happened not as bad “Can I go and meet Hagrid with you?” he asked.

With a nod, Harry then looked at Victoria, who still had her eyes closed “Victoria, do you want to come with us?” he offered, not wanting her to feel left out. And part of him wanted her to come, he enjoyed her company.

Before answering, Victoria ran her fingers nervously along the spine of her book and finally opened her eyes “Actually, I think I'm going to study in the common room... But send Hagrid my greetings” she replied.

“Alright.” Harry said, sounding slightly disappointed. He was used to going practically everywhere with her back at home, he had assumed that it was going to be a lot alike at Hogwarts. It was something he was going to have to get used to.

Later, after Ron and Harry left to go see Hagrid. Victoria sat in the common room with one of her books, there wasn't a lot of people in the common room. Most of people were enjoying the time off from classes.

Victoria pulled her hair back, frowning slightly when few pieces fell astray. She placed her Charms book on top of her crossed legs, though she figured that she should be studying potions, after today's display, she couldn't bring herself to study it.

Even thinking about it angered her slightly, where did he get the audacity to treat Harry like that? And all the other students! Especially the Gryffindors from what she seen! She never met someone so cruel before.

Victoria turned the page of her book angrily, creating a small paper cut on her finger. She yanked her hand back and put her finger up to her mouth, she glared down at her book, as if it betrayed her.

“Excuse me.” a soft voice said, making Victoria look up at a girl with bushy brown hair and brown eyes “Your name is Victoria, right?” she asked, making Victoria stare at her in surprise.

She was used to people asking if she was Harry's friend, no one really asked her by her name, and didn't immediately ask if she was his friend “Yes.” she said, trying to remember the girl's name “And yes I'm Harry's friend” Victoria quickly added.

The girl gave her a smile, showing her fairly large front teeth “I wasn't going to ask that.” she explained, making Victoria become curious “Mind if I study with you?” she asked, glancing down at the book she was holding.

Victoria nodded “Sure.” she replied happily, before pausing “I'm sorry, but. What is your name? I know I heard it before but I can't remember it...” she asked, with an embarrassed look on her face.

“Hermione Granger” she answered, in a matter-of-factly tone of voice. Victoria had sorta meet her while on the train, but being distracted for the most part, she didn't really remember the name after it was told to her the first time.

With a nod, Victoria gave Hermione a polite smile “It's nice meeting you” said Victoria, enjoying the fact that Hermione was the first person who didn't immediately jump to the subject of Harry.

If she found the ability to make another friend, it would make things a little easier for Victoria. It would make her summers more enjoyable, having more friends than just Harry to talk to.

“Do you have magical parents?” asked Victoria suddenly, while looking down at her book. She missed the slightly puzzled look from Hermione, she wasn't sure why she asked that, but she knew that Hermione seemingly knew a lot about magic.

Hermione shook her head, still slightly surprised at the question “No, I have muggle parents” she answered, wondering why Victoria asked that. Then wondered, was one of those people who didn't like muggle born students.

Upon hearing this, Victoria glanced quickly at Hermione “Its nice to know I'm not the only one” said Victoria “I've been hearing things, I don't know why I thought to ask.” she added quickly.

While though Hermione figured that Victoria didn't know much about magic, with how nervous she looked at the sorting ceremony and how enthralled she seemed to be with the sorting hat. She at least thought that she had one wizard in her family.

Having a friend who knew what Victoria was going through was one thing to her, but having a friend who had the same sort of background, muggle born parents. Was another, it made her feel not as alone.

Maybe, just maybe Victoria began in her thoughts, while looking down at her book and a smile trying to form on her face. Maybe I will belong here, or have I always belonged here? She wondered.

Victoria knew she was never quite normal, never really fitting in at school. Especially once her magic started showing, maybe the reason for that was because she belonged here at Hogwarts. Like its were she is supposed to be...
