A/n: this is actually going a lot faster than I thought it would, so that might mean there will be an update everyday. But  I cant be sure :)

It was two weeks before Victoria saw Harry again, and when she did see him he looked skinnier than when she last saw him. If she wasn’t afraid that she would get Harry in trouble, or that Dudley would eat it, she would sneak him some much needed food.

Victoria laid on her bed, staring at the plum purple ceiling, the holidays were nearing an end and she felt like she had done absolutely nothing, now that she thought of it. She had done basically nothing for the summer holiday, but when you only have one friend who it’s hard to see, you would do basically nothing as well.

“Victoria, come down here.” Called her father, Victoria obediently got up from her bed and walked downstairs. The smell of eggs and a lit vanilla scented candle filled the downstairs, giving it a homey smell.

“Yes, Father?” asked Victoria as she walked into the kitchen, her father was an older man, his butter blonde hair graying out, his knowledgeable brown eyes seemed to be dimming. He was a whole ten years older than her mother.

Her mother, with her dark brown hair and lively light blue eyes, was a student of her father’s when he was a professor at one of the nearby schools. But they hadn’t given a second thought to it, they loved each other and they said that is all that mattered.

Victoria’s father looked up from the paper at her with a lovable smile “Breakfast is nearly ready.”  He explained “And will you be a dear and go get the mail since you are already up?” He asked.

With a nod, Victoria turned on her heels and went to get the mail; she sometimes enjoyed the mail when it was from relatives. But most of the time it was a bill or some type of reminder from a place to do something.

Victoria picked up the small pile of letters “Looks like bills, as always” thought Victoria with a small frown, she looked through them to see if could see anything that would look interesting to be read.

Just as Victoria was about to give up, and declare that all the letters were bills, an ivory envelope caught her eye, out of interest, looked at it. Her heart gave an excited flip in her chest at what it had written in emerald ink on the front.

Running into the kitchen, with letters still in hand, Victoria had a wide smile on her face “Father!  I got a letter!” She announced happily, it wasn’t too often she got a letter, and when she did she was excited.

“Oh really?” her father said, glancing up at her from behind the paper “It is probably from your uncle Thomas, an early birthday card perhaps.” He said, looking back to his paper, Victoria shook her head slightly, her birthday wasn’t until next month, and her uncle knew that.
