The next afternoon, Victoria went outside with Harry and Ron for their flying lessons. It was a sunny and breezy afternoon, perfect weather for an outside class, or just to outside period.

Once they got to where they were supposed to meet for the lesson, they found that there was around twenty brooms laying on the ground and that the Slytherin students were already there.

“Do you think if I pretend they aren't there that they will go away?” Victoria whispered to Harry, not that she would think that it would work. Expect she really wished it would, she was already tired of the Slytherin students.

Harry shook head, he wasn't quite fond of this either “Well, what are you all waiting for? Everyone stand by a broom. Come on, hurry up.” their flying professor, Madam Hooch barked.

Victoria glanced at Harry and sighed, she walked over to a broom to await instructions. Well this is bound to be embarrassing thought Victoria, keeping her gaze away from Draco as well as she could, wasn't easy with him standing across from her.

Despite the fact that she knew that this was just embarrassment waiting to happen, she was fairly excited to learn to fly. It was something Victoria figured would be more fun than the magic itself “Stick out your right hand over your broom and say 'UP” intructed Madam Hooch.

There was a chorus of 'Up' and a few broomsticks jumped into the students hands immediately, Harry being one of them. Victoria stared at her broom, that only slightly bounced up, but not fully.

“Up!” exclaimed Victoria, making her broom leap into her hand. A grin formed on her face and excitement bubbled inside of her, she couldn't believe she actually did it, especially this quick.

Then, Madam Hooch showed them how to mount their brooms so they wouldn't slide off the end of the broom. She then walked up and down the row of students, correcting their grips when needed.

“Now, when I blow my whistle you kick off the ground, hard.” Explained Madam Hooch “Keep your brooms steady, rise a few feet and then come straight back down by leaning forward slightly. On my whistle, one, two” She continued, stopping to blow the whistle.

But, a boy who was also in Gryffindor, Neville. Jumped right before she blew the whistle, and was raising further and further into the sky with a terrified look on this face.

Suddenly, Neville slipped off sideways off the broom and then there was a thud then a crack. Victoria's hand flew over her mouth to suppress a shout of surprise and fright, Neville laid face down in the grass.

Victoria stared as Madam Hooch looked over Neville, looking as pale as he did. After helping him up, she turned to the rest of the class “None of you is to move while I take this boy to the hospital wing! You leave those brooms where they are or you’ll be out of Hogwarts before you can say ‘Quidditch.’ Come on, dear.” she ordered, before disappearing with Neville.

It was silent for a few short moments, until Madam Hooch and Neville were out of earshot. Then Draco Malfoy burst out into laughter “Did you see his face, the great lump?” he asked.

Anger surged through Victoria, she curled her fingers into fists, oh how she would love to go over there and give him a piece of her mind “Shut up, Malfoy!” Snapped a girl from somewhere in the Gryffindor row.

Victoria watched in silence as Harry and Draco bickered about a small little glass ball, before she knew it, Draco had flown up into the air on his broom, the glass ball still and hand. Harry followed after despite Hermione's protests.

But of course, in his midst of his anger, Harry completely ignored her. Victoria pinched her nose and shut her eyes “This is not going to end well...” She groaned, this was not at all what she was expecting from Flying Lessons.
