Before too long, two months passed since Victoria first arrived at Hogwarts and now it was Halloween. What normally was one of Victoria's favorite holidays, she liked seeing all the decorations and helping her mother bake pumpkin pie in the afternoon.
It was her first year where she wasn't home to do that, where she was miles and miles away from her parents. While part of Victoria was sad that she couldn't be home for it, another part of her was was excited to see what was in store at Hogwarts on Halloween.
Victoria walked with Ron and Harry after their Charms class, they had finally had learned how to make objects fly. Something that Victoria was excited to learn since the very first class, even if she only did manage to make her feather float up a little bit.
The only one who managed to get their feather to float high enough for it to even mean anything was Hermione, while though Victoria thought it was cool, Ron was more frustrated and grumpy about it, and something told her that he was also embarrassed considering that Hermione had corrected him before she had did it.
“Its no wonder no one can stand her.” began Ron as they forced their way through a busy corridor “She is a nightmare, honestly. No wonder she doesn't have any friends.” He added bitterly.
Before Victoria could say anything, Hermione had pushed passed them and hurried off and was in tears “Jerk.” replied Victoria shooting a look at Ron before hurrying to catch up to Hermione.
While struggling to get through the crowd of people, Victoria followed Hermione, who ignored her attempts to get her to stop. Victoria didn't get why Ron had said that, when he didn't really know anything about Hermione.
Though she hung out with Harry and Ron more, Victoria did consider Hermione to be a friend. She knew what it was like to come from a muggle family and something told Victoria that she will get to know the insulting words that Draco was sure to throw around.
A short while later, Victoria followed Hermione into the Girl's Bathroom, but she couldn't stop Hermione before she retreated into one of the stalls “Hermione... Don't listen to him.” she said, standing at the door of the Girl's Bathroom
Hermione sniffled and Victoria could still that Hermione was still crying “Go away.” she replied in a shaky voice, she just wanted to be alone. If what Ron had said about her was true, she didn't get why Victoria even bothered to come after her.
Victoria glanced down at her feet “But what Ron said was out of line, it was wrong of him to say that. He was and is just grumpy...” She said, tugging at the ends of her hair uneasily “And he was wrong about you not having friends... I am your friend... If you want me to be that is...” She added.
It was silent for a moment before Hermione let out a muffled sob “Just go away, I want to be alone...” demanded Hermione in a sad voice, she felt bad that she was making Victoria leave when she was trying to be a friend, she just didn't want anyone around.
Victoria was the only one who tried to be a friend to Hermione while at Hogwarts and she seemed to into the studies like she was, but they rarely spent any time talking. She always seemed to be around Harry and Ron, they only talked when they both were studying or Ron and Harry were off causing trouble.
