It was lively and festive on the ferry we were on. Or at least.. It seemed that way... The only other passengers were frogs. We kind of snuck on due to Greg throwing our two pennies into the well in front of Endicott's mansion. You were over at the edge looking at the water a bit away from the others, you walked over and looked at Greg, he was dancing with that frog of his. I don't remember what his name was, only that at one point the frog had been named Wirt. He was laughing and just having a great time, he seemed even happier than usual, if that was even possible. And somehow, Wirt was smiling and looking genuinely happy. "What a nice way to spend our last day going to Adelaide's huh?" He says to no one in particular. "Soon our Journey will be over, and I'll be back home... I won't have to worry about that Woodsman, or that Beast or whatever. And you won't have to put up with us anymore." He says to Beatrice, nudging her with his elbow. "Huh? I bet you're pretty happy about that." He says giving her a joking smile. "Huh? Oh...Yeah...Sure.." She says. You make it over by that time and place your hands gently on the railing. You then give Wirt a funny look as you then place a hand on his forehead. "What are you doing? He asks you, genuinely confused. "Are you sick or something? You're smiling." You say jokingly." He chuckles as you then walk over to Greg and join in his little dance. "Are you alright Beatrice? You seem uncharacteristically... Wistful.." He asks her, concern in his voice. You listened carefully to their conversations as Greg was really just babbling to you about God knows what. "What? Sorry just thinking..." Beatrice replies. You began to get this feeling that what if Adelaide wasn't a good woman? What if she was evil? What if she tried to hurt you guys? You swore on your life to always stay with, and protect Wirt wherever you went. "Oh! We're going to the pasture to see Adelaide and ask her if she has a way to send us back where we came from~! I don't know who she is or how she or when or why she is but as for who she is she is where we shall go!" By then you and Wirt had joined in Greg's little song. Your voice being complimented by Greg's childish voice, and Wirt's calm but excited voice. "To Adelaide! Adelaide! Come on and join the Adelaide parade! Adelaide! To Adelaide! We're going to Adelaide's house today!" And as you sang that, Wirt's hand let go of Greg's and yours causing the four of you to fall down. Wirt had been laughing and was just so happy, it seemed all like a dream. Like something so special you'd only see it once in a lifetime. You got up and helped the boys up who then leaned against the railing again. "Boy...we're finally going home.." Wirt said, looking hopeful. You couldn't help but smile so largely at this. "What?" He asks you, looking over. You realized what you were doing and blushed, turning away. "Oh...it's nothing... Sorry.." You tell him, unable to get the image of him smiling out of your head. " Beatrice sighs and looks down into the water sadly. "Hey, what's with Beatrice?" Wirt asks you. "I don't know but I'm glad you reminded me, I'm starting to get second thoughts about the whole Adelaide thing.." You say to Wirt. Beatrice had seemed to perk up a little at what you had said. "What?! What do you mean?" Wirt says, stepping away from you looking disgusted. "I mean.. How can we trust Adelaide, we've never met her or heard anything of her other than the fact that she's the 'Good woman of the Woods.'" You explain, feeling bad that you had brought it up and made Wirt's expression fall 20 stories. Before Wirt had time to think and process this information we hear Greg's voice "Wirt, what's with George Washington being naked?" He says, pointing to his frog who then turns around, posing almost. "What do you mean?" You ask Greg. "All of the other frogs are dressed up nice, but he's not! He's an outcast, and he's cold! Feel these cold feet." Greg says, holding up the frog's foot. "N-No... Frogs are supposed to be like that Greg..." Wirt assures him. We then hear a whistle blow and a frog dressed like a policeman start running towards us. "Uh oh.. Looks like we're in trouble now.." Wirt says. Greg gasps, "It's because the president's naked!" "No... It's probably because we snuck on without paying.." Beatrice says quietly. "Oh yeah, but that's because Greg threw all of our money away! Take him not me!" Wirt yells, running. We run for a while until me and Wirt end up crushed together inside of his coat, hiding under Greg's frog. We were taller than a lot of other frogs so we stood out a bit, however we did blend in for the most part. We got pushed up onto the stage and failed at trying to stay hidden. Greg as a drum made a lot of noises, specifically 'ow' when Wirt drummed his face. Not to mention Wirt knocking the bassoon player off of the boat." Wirt grabbed the unoccupied instrument and began to play along with the rest of the band. Soon the frog began to sing in a deep voice. It sounded quite good actually, he sang a familiar toon your mother used to sing to you as a baby 'Over the Garden Wall' you sang along quietly at first then getting louder and harmonizing with the frog which you admit was strange but it sounded Everything has gone well until the cloak fell revealing Wirt playing the bassoon and the short frog and girl which were singing. The policeman blew their whistle and were about to run up and arrest us if someone hadn't hushed them from them from the audience. Wirt began to play again and you and the frog picked up from where you left off, singing in harmony not caring about a single thing in the world.
