Unknown's P.O.V.

Kill. Kill. I smell blood. Kill.

My heart pounded even harder as I heard the familiar thoughts inside my head. For so long, I've been searching for him right after he left. Giving him the same trust he had on me only without hearing my thoughts as I did to him, I had wished that he'll do well and take control of whatever he'd be. And, now, hearing his thoughts, I guess the odds are not with me.

But.

I hope I was wrong. I hope its not him. But, then again, it has to be him. He's the only one I know I'm connected with. There's no way I'm gonna go fooling myself.

You see, the world is divided into three - at least for us. The heaven above is where, obviously, the good guys are. Now the earth is divided into two - our camp ground, where younglings stay to be educated and stuff about this kind of things - and that is where I came from; and the outside world where you, my friend, are from. It's pretty normal out there. And, last but not the least, but is the darkest of them all, there's also the underworld - land of the Hoodiens.

Now, everyone is classified according to whatever you wanna call it. I mean, I don't do the rules, I just grew up with it but for obvious reasons - which I'll be telling you. So, the Hoodiens are the Fallens that had completely turned to the dark side. Hoodiens and Fallens are all ex-angels - but Fallens are the one who committed such terrible things or had once rebelled yet are living in peace afterwards. The easiest one to remember are the mortals - and, that's you! Basically the only special thing about you is you get to live a normal life; unless your mom fell in love with a Fallen - or the demon Hoodien - then you'll be sent to live with us on our secret school at the camp ground at the right age. As we won't be talking about the gods - though they do exist - the highest angels are called Ashprorie. They usually are the ones who are next in line after the gods. They do politics and stuff - they lead in short. On sidelines, they have an assigned protectors called the Lukerites - they're like the FBI or the police. They protect the community from any threats from the Hoodiens. And I, being a Lukerite, was assigned to my Ashprorie best friend.

I can't say that I'm not happy about it. Though my family had been in service to them for such a long time, the two of us hang out more than it should and after his parents found out that I can read his mind and hear his thoughts, they immediately assigned me on him. You see, aside from the Hoodiens, there was another threat to our world - the whole world.

In every generation, someone different is born - someone that belongs both to the heaven and the underworld. Love between those two was far long forbidden after a terrifying incident in our history. But, love is love, they find a way. And so does his parents. That's why he left. That's why he ran away. He was so scared of what he could become and I let him get away. I could have helped him.

But, now, its too late - it may be too late.

Kill. I need to kill.

I heard it again and this time it's clearer and closer. I looked around. I'm pretty sure that this place isn't deserted at all. He's here somewhere, about to kill someone. My pace quickened as I turned left but, still, nothing.

I winced as I felt unease, closing my eyes and getting a glimpse inside his mind, seeing what he is seeing. Knowing that it will help me find him, I concentrated on getting inside his mind.

Red house. He's stood in front of a red house with the number 41 on its front door. There was a blonde girl outside with her back on him. He approached her slowly - his next victim - clutching a knife on his right hand.

Breathing heavily, I ran. I remember passing that house awhile ago. It's so close. I can stop him. I have to stop him. I have to help that poor girl.

I have to help him...

I took a quick left and spotted the house only to find no one except for a body that lay unconscious. I ran to her, kneeling beside her and looking for a pulse. But I was too late. There were at least a dozen stab on her. The one on her chest must be the one that ended her life - she's gone.

I heard a sudden movement behind me as a familiar voice said; "Calum, you came!"
