And I bet you have the answer to my last question. Here you go!
Calum's P.O.V.
I turned on the radio and listened to the song of a band called Blink 182 that was playing on some station. Well, I know the band. Before, like way back, and not here on the mortal world but in ours, my sister made me listen to them. That was the time she went there for the first time; and, sadly, that was also her last time. I haven't seen her since then.
Until recently...
KNOCK-KNOCK!
I snepped out of my thought, looking at the passenger's window. A girl was standing right outside, beaming and waving at me. I smiled, nodding for her to get in.
"I've missed you," I started, grinning at her, as she closed the door.
"Its been eight years," she giggled. "Never thought I'd see you again."
I started the engine and drive off.
"You could say I was hella surprised when I saw you," she continued.
"Yes, about that," my smiles faded into thin line, focusing on the road. "I was surprised he didn't recognized you."
"He had met me once," she pointed out. "Haven't seen him since. Bet he doesn't even remember a thing."
"I," I closed my mouth; she's right - they met once and that was the day before she was sent out to this world.
No one speak a word for aimute or two but I can hear her thoughts - all of it - from the day she left to everything that happened right after that - from why I was here to Michael.
"You know I can hear you," I said, breaking off the.silence, as I turned left.
"I know," she sighed. "You need to stop it sometimes."
"That's what connects us," I muttered. "And something connects the two of you."
"That's what mom said," she said. "And Mali. Bet that's what dad would have said, too, if only he didn't threw me out here after I was born and if only he showrd himself up to me when I went there."
"Kelsey," I cut her off. I know how sensitive this topic is for her - I don't know now but I remember how she lost it before. "Its not like that. Dad loves you. There's not a day that passed by that he didn't thought of you. He would love to meet you, you know."
"So, he decided to fucking give me away to some mortal?" She snapped. "You brainwashed an old lady to be my mom. Do you have any idea how horrible she was that I left home to live with Shawn? And how can you be so sure that it was me on the prophecy? It could have been Mali! Or maybe it wasn't Michael at all!"
"Kelsey," I repeated, stepping on the brakes to face her. Tears were running down her cheeks. "Its me! I am the one that connects the two of you! I wasn't just assigned to protect him! He who was born at midnight on the eleventh month to an angel and demon whose names are known and feared - that's him! Its Michael! Befriended by his rightful servant who can read his mind - that's our family! And that's me!"
HONK!
"Hey!" A man shouted. I looked at the rear view mirror and saw a man glaring at us. "Move it!"
I shook my head, stepping on the acceleration and turning right.
"Why does it have to be me?" She asked.
"Speaking in thoughts within his blood," I continued, calming down. "A blood the son of the angel and the demon will fall into - loved by his angel and craved by his demon - I can't hear Mali's thoughts."
"But how'd you know it was me?" She asked.
"Mali was sent out too when you were born," I explained. "She wasn't there all her life and when you went there, that's when we found out."
"No," she protested. "It doesn't make sense."
"I know, but don't make this any harder," I said, pulling over near the playground. "The prophecy doesn't end there. You know that."
"I do," she sighed. We locked eyes. "But I do love him."
"And the two of us have to kill him," I pointed out. "Or he will kill us when the the time comes."
Plot twist is plot twist. You're welcome!
