Kelsey's P.O.V.

"Kels!" he shouted, rolling down the window. I looked at him, smiling. "Are you sure?"

"Yes, I'll be fine, Ashes," I said, reassuring him. "I don't wanna be a pain in the ass for long."

He pouted. "We don't mind having you around. You're welcome to stay for as long as you want. That was our dream when we were kids, remember?"

After collecting my stuffs when Shawn left the house, I ran off to Ashton and Luke, taking chances that nothing changed between us. I felt bad though; I stopped talking to them for three years because Shawn was jealous of them then, all of a sudden, I showed up on their doorstep. But they still accepted me with an open arms. Well, it was better having your friends around to cry your eyes out, doesn't it?

"You only want me for my cooking," I rolled my eyes.

"Not true!" He cried, laughing. "Though, I have to admit, yours are a lot better than Luke's. That makes you more welcome to stay!"

"Your girlfriend hates me," I shrugged.

"Not true," he repeated. True, I thought. His girlfriend glares at me last night like she's about to eat me alive. "It's just that she doesn't know you yet. You haven't been around since you left with that bastard. I don't know why girls are all over him. He could have a good career if only he isn't an asshole!"

"I don't wanna talk about him," I muttered, looking down.

He sighed. "You should have given Luke a chance. He loves you. And he still does."

"We're best friends," I reminded him. "You guys are like brothers to me."

"Well, are you sure about working there?" He asked, changing the subject, as he nodded at the building behind me. With no doubt, there was a worried look on his face. "It's just that, news around town, he ab--- does something to his employees."

"He's my uncle, Ashton," I demanded. "He's the only family that accepted me back. I'm standing up for him."

"We're family," he said. He sighed and continued. "Look, take a break for awhile. You really don't have to work. Luke and I can support you."

"If you insist on me staying, I need to work so I can share with the bill and stuff, okay? Having you around is more than enough," I said as he nodded at me. I looked at my watch. "Have to go now. Ten minutes to shift."

"Call me or Luke when you got out so we can fetch you," he said, starting the engine. "It's good to have you back, Kels. See you later!"

I smiled. "See you later, Ashes."
