"Did he act like a kitten?", Calum asked, looking Luke in the eye.

"He was a kitten."
....
"No fucking way."

The boys couldn't believe it. It was crazy.

Luke explained to Calum about the incident, and Calum explained the version he got from Ashton. It was the same, up until the part where they took Ashton away.

The fall triggered Ashton's schizophrenia and instead of being taken away from everyone, Ashton believed that Michael had come with him. Therefore, creating his "imaginary friend."

"Oh my fucking God.", Luke breathed.

"This is crazy.", Calum said.

"Cal... Can I meet him?", Luke asked nervously.

Calum looked up at him slowly.

"I just need answers," he said quickly, not wanting to offend him.

"Yeah," Calum nodded grimly, "you can."
...
The boys had to disguise Luke as a nurse in order to sneak him in, because Ashton was on lock down in the psych ward.

Luke tugged on the scrubs he'd snatched from a cart nervously as he walked down the hall, replaying the instructions Calum gave him in his head.

Room 323.

Luke stood in front of the door, breathing in and out nervously. He heard voices coming from behind it.

It's now or never.

He opened the door slowly, walking in and closing it behind him.

"-hide or they'll find you!", he heard Ashton hiss, looking beside him.

Luke turned to look at him, pretending he hadn't heard that.

"Hello nurse," Ashton chirped somewhat cheerfully. He was sitting cross legged on the bed with his hands in his lap like a child.

"H-hello," Luke stammered. He tried not to make it completely obvious that he was taking in his surroundings, as well as the way Ashton looked.

His hair fell in light brown curls, slightly disheveled. He had pretty eyes, with dark bags underneath them.

Luke couldn't help but notice, everything was white.

"Oh um, I.. Came to interview you.", Luke said, straightening up slightly, clasping his hands in front of him.

"Interview away, my friend.", Ashton smiled at him, it was a bit of a wreckless smile, yet it was so friendly. He almost seemed normal.

"Can you uh, tell me about your friend... Michael?", Luke asked nervously.

Ashton chuckled, "I told you guys, he went away. I'm better. I can go home!" He stared into Luke's eyes, as if willing him to believe him. Luke knew he was lying.

"Ashton, I know about him. I believe you," Luke said genuinely, trying to make Ashton believe him.

"Why should I believe you?", Ashton asked.

"Because I have a friend named Michael too."
...
Ashton laughed. A loud, scary laugh. It ended in a short fit of giggles.

"Oh you nurses, always messing with the crazy people!", he said, still laughing. It was scary.

"Ashton really... Michael, the real Michael, he's here. He's in a coma.", Luke said, the nerves rising in his voice.

"No he's not, because he's my friend and he's here with me!", Ashton said, smiling crazily. Luke could see he was losing him. He would go off at any minute.

"Ashton please, you have to believe me. I think if you see him, you could get better! I could help Calum get you out of here!", Luke said, his voice rising slightly.

"SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!", Ashton screamed at him, covering his ears with his hands.

Luke flinched and began backing towards the door.

"I won't let you take him I won't let him get hurt again!", Ashton was sobbing now, his arms wrapped tightly around himself.

"Ashton I-", Luke began. But Ashton cut him off.

"NO GET OUT I WONT LET YOU TAKE HIM!", Ashton screamed, throwing the pillow on his bed at Luke.

Luke dunked and it hit the wall above him. He saw nurses began to rush down the corridor to his left, and he knew he had to get out of there.

"I'm sorry," Luke whispered, and he slipped out the door.
