Thomas seemed to be playing hard to get, claiming he was “too busy” to even meet his Queen, forcing Jessie to wait several days—time she was no longer willing to waste idol at the bar. After her first near-death experience in her new body she decided to push her plans forward even faster, it was either end game or death, there was no in between and the more she delayed the more likely she’d be found out before she could even put her plan in play.
From what Amy told her before she left the artic lab, Thomas had a rough time since her death half a year ago. His first problem was the fact that Lucas Brawl knew exactly where his hideout was in Seattle, having stumbled across it sometime earlier during the war. Before the news of Lilly’s death was even able to hit the mass media several dozen soldiers were crawling over the Seattle downtown ruins which hid his base. He was able to escape via a secret passage which used the subway tunnels and access hatches of the defunct shield under the city—an escape route he created well before Sin ever stumbled into his hideout.
But Lucas Brawl, the face of the successful American Revolution, ruler of Falu—The Free American Lucarian Union—was not going to give up on Thomas and ended up chasing his trail around the world before Thomas was able to snuff out all trace and disappear into the wind. But disappearing was not easy; it took everything he was able to scrounge up from his place and then some. He had nothing, even losing his hardware along the way. For at least two months Thomas was literally gone, unable to even connect to his contacts to tell them he was alive, everyone thought he was dead—killed by the hands of Falu or Redeme.
Then one day, about nine weeks after he was chased away he made contact with his sources, reestablished connections with his following and began the hunt, looking for Lilly, since he never thought she was dead, and even if she was he knew damn well Sin wasn’t.
Thomas has kept off the radar since he was finally able to evade the government and Jessie got an ‘I’ll call you’ from the man. She never really thought of him as much more than a simple friend to Sin, but now this distant friend seemed to be the only mean she had to obtaining her goals.
But enough of Thomas, Amy was able to provide some useful information about the workings of the world in the last six months, information that could surely push her goals forward further. She learned from Amy that though at the moment Redeme holds strong the vast majority of the world and controls all of the Mega Cities plus most of the land in North America, Australia, Brazil, and Europe there were still several factions that got burned by the world’s union and would like nothing more than to see Redeme horribly collapse in the next few years.
She also learned who these enemies to the throne were. First there was the Sali, considered a minor threat out of North Africa simply because it was nearly annihilated during the Fourth World War. The Sali were most likely the group that held her hostage for the last two months of the war and tortured her, it was most likely led by the disfigured man who enjoyed cutting into her skin way too much. The thought of that man with his fire and knifes scared her.
But the Sali, even through they were behind the attack on the capital during the pivotal day when Lilly died and the war ended, were considered a minor threat because they spent nearly a thousand years planning a global takeover that failed and given their track record it will probably take another thousand years before another move is made. With that long-range planning Redeme choose to concentrate its threat priority on more immediate threats.
This is where Amy came to a semi-organized bandit group which seemed to hold control over the no-man lands between the Mega cities and the Dead Lands, attacking those who ventured too far away from the protection of the cities. This bandit group, named Suemen after their leader Sue Mein Lee holds residence on the outskirts of Europe, Asia, Central Africa. Much debate has been put in place of simply bombing these areas, but any action against them has yet to happened and the areas have been tagged by the Mega Cities as ‘enter at your own risk’.
