***The Time Before***
A little network had been built up over the past few days, a small army of human drones feeding off the little girls every wish and demand. A neat trick she learned very early on in a past life but hadn’t used until now. To most her trick would look like mind control, but it’s not as simple as that. Long, long ago in a past body Jessie learned she could emit an aura around her, a microscopic dust that can bend any mind to her will, a neat parlor trick that can cause temporary hypnosis.
This was until she learned over a year ago in her old body—one everyone knew as Lily—that if she pushed too much of the aura onto one person the effect can permanently damage and open the victims brain—essentially making them her puppets forever. Well, not to say permanent, but their ability to resist her becomes so weak seconds near her in the future will have lasting effects and those she controls may worship or do anything she says for hours or days after exposure—with one second renewing that dedication. With her old body making permanent drone would take days and up to a week of exposure, but little Jessie has learned how to push the aura larger and heavier than ever before, making a drone in hours of exposure instead of days.
This never ending dedication from anyone who gets too close to her could prove to be a huge asset in her future—whatever it may hold. But even with her renewed power to control those around her and days of waiting Jessie has yet been able to see any signs of her being a Darth—a creature that crash landed on Earth thousands of years ago and accidently bred its genes into nearly every human on the planet, a gene that is nearly inaccessible except by the most rare circumstances. Lilly was a Darth and her blood in Jessie’s veins should have turned Jessie into a Darth – but nothing has happened to prove she was a new creature. See, Darth’s always develop some kind of feeding ability during their inception, and Jessie was now just waiting for hers—worrying if it will appear at all.
Jessie’s body was like a blessing come true to the blood of Lilly and this blessing goes back to how a Darth is created. First there is natural appearance, a person has to die during a very short cycle that only happens between the age eighteen and early twenties, not only that but it has to be unnatural causes during only one to two months of those years and with two recessive Darth genes “unlocked” an odd so low the most natural spawning Darth’s there’s ever been on the planet was six, all of which died during the war.
Jessie’s body though at age six, well younger than the age for a natural creation, had both recessive genes making her as close as one can get to a purebred on Earth. But Jessie wasn’t turned naturally. See—Lilly knew she was going to die, that she was dying at an incredibly fast pace, and to combat her death she created a contingency plan. The idea was that moments before her death she was going to transfer all her “being” to preserved blood taken from her during her very first week she naturally got turned and was in the hospital a year ago.
Her doctor, Dr. Hemaz, and also her very first successful turn, was given a command ‘Find the perfect body for her and give it her blood.’ See for a Darth to turn a human into a Darth the Darth needs to feed the human its blood. The Darth’s blood acts like a virus in the human’s body, killing and taking over the human’s cells. The problem is that a healthy human can easily fight off the virus and the turn will fail, so a Darth can only turn the weak and weakened. This means commonly a Darth has to nearly kill someone before they can turn them, making the process very dangerous for both the one being turned and the one turning the victim. How is a host supposed to know when taking enough blood is enough? What happens if the host goes too far and kills their feed? And reversing the blood flow is even harder and has its own problems, the host could give their feed too much, killing itself or not enough at all wasting all its effort and greatly weakening itself for no reason. This roughly meant it would be next to impossible for Lilly to actually come back—not with just one bag of blood to insert into an unsuspecting human body.
