Chapter 19: Engagement

"Hi Vincent!", this older woman said hugging him. "Stirring up trouble around town?", she said putting a hand on her hip.

"As always.", he chuckled. We walked into the small flower shop that Vince took me to, to start off our 'mystery date'.

"And hello. You must be Spencer.", she said giving me a warm smile and hug.

"Yes. How did you know?", I said looking over at Vincent.

"Well Vincent here has made several arrangements for you. So I just guessed that was you!", she said smiling.

"Now what would you like today?", she said facing Vincent.

"I just need one rose.", he said giving me a dimpled smile. His dimples mad butterflies bang against my stomach, wanting to get out.

"Just one?", she questioned him. He gave a small nod as she walked back into the back.

"Did you tell everyone about me?", I asked giving him a bad attitude look.

"Well yes, you are my fiancé, everyone deserves to know about you.", he said kissing my forehead.

"You two are just so darn cute!", she said handing him the rose. His face was flushed and looked down at his shoes.

"How much?", he said taking a deep breath. She just shook her head and said, "On the house."

He thanked her as he grabbed me by the waist as we walked out the door. "Vincent, why don't we just go home and....", I tried to say but he interrupted me with a kiss.

"Were not going home because your never out of the house and you need a date, you have been looking a little stressed."

Well yeah I'm stressed, your going into the army in 5 days! Why wouldn't I be stressed?!

He gazed at me and he knew I had a lot on my mind.

"Just come on. You will love where we are going!", he said in a girly voice as he picked me up bridal style.

"VINCENT BECK! PUT ME DOWN NOW!", I shouted as he ran towards his truck.

"I WILL SCREAM RAPE!", I yelled again.

"It wouldn't be rape if you enjoyed it.", he said smirking as he opened the passenger door.

We were going down the back road towards Mikes.

"This is your surprise?", I whined and put my hands on my face.

"Trust me, it will be a surprise.", he said nodding. I just huffed and stared out my window. It was already 2 and all we did was get a rose.

I mean, yeah I loved this rose. It smells beautiful, but anything that has Mike included means drinking or sex... or both.

We hopped out of the truck and we walked toward his house. Vince knocked on his front door and waited to see Shelby. She was dressed in a red short dress which was strapless and looked almost like mine.

"Shelby? Why are you dressed up?", I questioned her as she let us through the door.

"I could ask you the same question. MIKEEE!!", she yelled up the stairs.

"Yes baby.... Oh hi, Vincent and Spencer. It's nice to see you guys.", he said while he made his eyes big.

"It's nice to see you too. Mike what is going on?", I questioned him when I put my hand on my hip.
