Chapter 34: I Saw Her

                   I gave him a blank face, he didn't remember that my parents aren't alive?

"V-Vince, um. You may not remember anything from back then but surely you remember that?", I asked slowly. 

"Babe, I'm sorry. When I think about stuff that happened before. I-It's just blank.", he stuttered. 

I started to breath heavier and looked away. He grabbed my hand and said, "Babe, come here." He tugged onto my arm, pulling me into bed with him. For him being in such a horrible state, he was still really strong. Tears pouring out of my eyes and he ran his hand through my hair. 

"Shhh, it's alright.", he said trying to calm me down. 

"The doctors said I would most likely get my memory back. It all comes with time honey.", he said kissing my forehead. 

I sighed, cuddling up against him.

"I may not remember much, but I do remember that I am madly in love with you. Yeah, I've been with girls before but they never made me feel this happy like you do. That may sound cheesy but it's the truth. I am so, so in love with you.", he whispered to me. "I love your laugh, I love you retarded smile, I love your beautiful face. I love how you get hiccups and they last for hours. I love when you laugh so hard, you fall onto the floor and gasp for air. I love when you get so mad at me, you throw pillows at me and laugh again. I love when we were at Mike's and I surprised you when I came home from the army." 

"You remember that?!", I asked looking up at him. 

"I-I guess I do. It just came back to me...", he said looking around the room.

"Well, I love you more than all of that. I love your perfect but your imperfect laugh. I love our small dates we had when I first came to Pennsylvania. Vince, your my life. Your what I have been looking for my whole life.", I said sitting up and kissing his lips. 

I continued to kiss him, but a sharp pain came into my side. I pulled back and rubbed my side. 

"What's wrong?", Vince asked. 

"I-I.... Ow!", I shouted. "Push the nurse button now!", I said as I fell backwards. 

"NURSE!", Vince yelled. Nurses rushed in and they asked, "What?

He pointed at me and they obviously saw that I was in pain. They walked over and asked, "Honey, tell us what's wrong."

"M-My side.", I said as I continued to rub it. 

"The glass.", they both said in unison. 

"Well don't just stand there, do something!", Vince yelled. They put me back into my wheel chair. My breathing began to go faster, it was hard to get air in and out.

"Hey, Hey look into my eyes, breath through your nose out your mouth.", Vince said taking my left hand, kissing it. They pushed me out of the room and my breaths weren't coming out. I coughed, trying to get whatever was stuck inside of my throat. I coughed onto my hand, blood splatting onto it. 

"It may have penatrated her lung.", the doctor said. "Honey, were going to give you something to calm you down." I nodded and she gave me a shot. My vision began to blur and the voices around me were gone. Everything was gone, and I began to see my mom running toward me. 

"Mom?", I said titling me head. 

"Oh my baby girl. Look how much you have grown!", she said rubbing my shoulder and showing me that beautiful, perfect smile of hers. 

"I am 17 years old.", I laughed. 

"And it was just like yesterday you were only 8.", she laughed. "Sit, we have so much to catch up on." I took a seat on the picnic chair, she on the opposite one.

"Mom, I'm afraid.", I said looking down at my shaking hands. 

"Of what honey?", she said smiling. 

"Of life. I'm afraid of life.", I said grabbing her hands. 

"Oh everyone is afraid of life! They never know what will happen, but you a strong girl -woman I mean. You are strong and you can do whatever you dream to do.", she said giving my hand a squeeze. "I'm sorry for leaving you. But it was my time to go and I have been watching you ever since."

"Really?", I asked. She nodded and smiled, "This Vince boy. He loves you very much."

My face got red, "You know Vince?"

"Yes, but I gave you some privacy when you guys were in the bedroom. If you know what I mean.", she said smirking. I rolled my eyes and said, "I miss you."

"You know I am always with you.", she said as she began to cry. "I'm sorry, I am such a baby."

I shook my head and said, "I wish I could see you more often like this, I have so many problems that I have to face."

"Most of the problems in your life are due to two reason, you act without thinking or think without acting. I've been telling you that ever since you were a little girl.", she said giving me another heart warming smile. 

"I know.", I said laughing. 

"Honey, it's time for me to go.", she said getting up. 

"Why so soon? I just got back!", I whined.

"Quit whining, you know how much I hate that. Here give me a kiss.", she said and she gave me a kiss on her forehead. 

"Mom, wait!", I raced after her. 

"WAKE UP!", she screamed. 

"What?", I asked her again. This was making no sense. 

"Wake up my baby. It's time for you to live your life! I love you.", she said and then a bright life came into my eyes.

I opened my eyes and saw I was in the same room I was in before. "Mom?", I whispered.

"Oh my, Spencer your awake.", Rebecca said beside me.

"What, what happene-", I asked confusingly. 

"You just got out of surgery, the piece of glass that was stuck between your ribs was taken out because it was cutting your right lung.", she explained. 

"Oh....", I said trying to sit up. 

"Hey, take it easy.", she said as she bolted up. 

"How long have I been asleep?", I asked. 

"About 2 days.", she told me. 

I looked over to the other bed and Vince was peacefully sleeping. I smiled and said, "I saw my mom."

"Your mom?", she asked. 

I smiled and nodded, "I saw her."
