"How can he just forget his own sister?", Meghan complained to the nurse.

"He has brain damage. He will suffer....", she tried to continue.

"Hell no! Just find a way for him to remember me!" she said stomping into the room. I wheeled after her (again, I am still in a wheel chair)

"Vince can you please remember?", Meghan pleaded to Vince.

"Um Meghan, is that it?", he asked me and continued. "I'm sorry, this last thing I remember is Spencer, in that beautiful dress of hers. I gave her back the engagement ring and then... Kaboom!", he said flailing his arms.

"Okay, if I can prove that I am your sister, here. Look!", she said showing him a picture of them both on her phone.

"I don't know what this is.", he said slowly.

"JUST FUCKING REMEMBER!", she screamed at him.

"Meghan Leigh, quit!", Rebecca screamed at her.

Vince had tears in his eyes, and he tried to fight them back. But they just came out. Meghan ran out of the room and slammed the door shut. I wheeled myself over to him and rubbed his arms.

He swatted my hands away and said, "Stop. Just.. Stop."

I took my hands away and slouched in the chair.

"I don't know why I'm crying a lot now and why I'm getting angry at the most idiotic things.", he said sobbing and trying to relax his breathing.

"You have brain damage, you will have these.... emotions.", I said slowly.

"Will I be like this forever?", he continued to sob.

I shook my head. I mean I wasn't completely lying to him The results never came back for how long this damage will be.

***
The nurse came in to change Vince's burn bandages. When she was finished, she gave him his meds that made him finally sleep.

She walked over to me and settled me into my bed.

"Take these, they will help you fall asleep and will help with the pain.", she said and handed me fairly large white pills. I nodded and she turned away to grab the pill container. I quickly hid the pills under my pillow and took a sip of water.

She smiled at me and walked out of the room. I sighed and looked at the clock.

8:07 p.m.

I slowly tried to get up out of bed and try to get into the wheel chair.

My legs and arms were sore, every ounce was in pain. Right when I was going to jump into the chair, I snack right down onto the floor.

"Shit.", I whispered and picked myself up. I slid into the chair and taking a breather. I wheeled myself over to Vincent's bed and kissed his cheek.

I slowly creaked the door open, no nurses were out. I guess it's break time. I wheeled myself out, closing the door behind me. I wheeled myself around, looking at the pink walls and white tiles on the floor.

The scent of the place smelled liked hand sanitizer and perfume. I started to go faster to see what a glimpse of bright light came from.

"Vending machines...." I said as I stopped in front of it. I slid my hand over the glass, looking at all the Reese's and Snickers. I licked my lips, only if I could just get one....

"Hey! What are you doing out of your room?", a security guard asked me from the end of the hall.

Should I say that I was trying to find a bathroom or just make a break for it?

So I just went with my instincts.

I bolted down the opposite hallway, trying to find my room.

326.....327...... 328! I zoomed to the door and opened it, slamming it shut.

I just out ran a security guard. I mentally gave myself a pat on the back and I saw Vince was up.

"Spencer?", he asked me as he sat his bed up.

"It's alright, just get back to sleep.", I said slowly and wheeled to my side of the bed.

"Could you hand me my drink over there?", he said pointing on the drink on the desk. I nodded and wheeled over there, handing it to him.

I grabbed the pills under my pillow and took a sip of his water. I shot them down, and climbed into my bed.

I sighed, "Will we ever get out of this place?"

Then I was out.

***
"Spencer.. Wake up!", the doctor said quietly as I opened my eyes.

"W-What time is it?", I stuttered out.

"About 10:30. Alright get up, MRI scan today.", she said as she lifted my bed up. I looked over to Vincent's bed, which was empty.

"Where is Vincent?", I said quickly.

"He's just getting some blood work done, nothing to worry about honey.", she said getting me up out of bed. She got me into the wheel chair and I wheeled myself out.

"In this room right here.", she said pushing me into the room. She help me lay down on the bed and she turned it on. She walked out and into another room. I started to move forward, going through the tube thing. I started breathing heavier, yes I was nervous.

***
The doctor transferred back to my room. Vince was back in bed and I wheeled over to him.

"Hey beautiful.", he said kissing my hand.

"How you feeling?", I said with a smile on my face.

"Well, very sore. How long have we been here?", he said yawning.

"2 days. School starts in like a week and I'm going to miss it.", I said slowly.

The doctor came in with a few nurses beside her. "Spencer, we have some news for you."

I nodded and sat up in my bed. "Do you want Vincent to hear this as well?", the doctor asked me.

I nodded again and she picked up her clipboard. "Ever since the MRI, we have found out something's about you. When the truck exploded near you, glass was penetrated you correct?"

I nodded again.

Could she just spit it out already?

"When we got all of the glass out, we thought we got it all out. But we were wrong, you have broken ribs. And a fairly large piece of glass is stuck in between the broken ribs.", the doctor finally spat out.

"She could have felt it by now, how is that possible?", Vince asked.

"It's deep enough that she doesn't feel it.", she pointed out.

"So, what's going to happen?", I asked her. "I mean, I have school starting in a week and I want to know when I could get discharged, and when Vince will get charged and.."

"Just calm down, okay step by step. You will have to go through surgery to get the glass out.", she explained.

"Surgery?! How many people have survived this surgery?", I asked worringly.

"Everyone of them, and you will too. Do you have a parent or guardian who we could discuss this with?", she asked.

"No, I would like to be alone on this surgery.", I said quietly.

"I will be with her on this surgery.", Vince said smiling at me. I gave him a small smile and they exited the room.

He looked over at me again and said, "I really want to meet your parents soon."

"M-My parents?", I stuttered.
