He Wasn't: Chapter Fourteen

"Wow, you've only finished the half of it but it looks so amazing!" Megan pointed at my painting, leaning forward to get a closer look. She was wearing a 3-inch heels and a white ruffled dress. The one that a girl wears for a dinner reservation at a fancy restaurant.

"Megan, shh." I said as I dip my paint brush into a jar of oil.

"What, why?"

"I don't know, I just want it to be peaceful when I paint."

"Oh," she giggled as she covered her mouth with her hand. "Ok, I'll see you later Sof,"

"Are you meeting with Ryan?"

"Mhm,"

I smirked. "Good for you,"

"I know! I'm just as happy as you are. And please do take a shower after that, ok?"

"Yes mum," I said. I turned back to my painting as I sat on a stool.

It was nice to hear Megan and Ryan meeting up and having time for each other again. They've been together for four years already and just recently there had been issues about Ryan fooling around with another girl.

Or was it the other way around. Sometimes that's partly the reason why I don't like being in a relationship because of what I keep seeing from my friends. It's not that I blame but I'm scared, thinking that it would happen to me someday. Getting hurt is what I'm avoiding.

"Mmmm..." I moaned as I stretched out my arms. I've been painting for like, 5 hours. And since then I haven't moved or took a break. My arm muscle started to become sore.

Bzzz bzz... Bzzz bzz..

The sound coming from my phone made me nervous for no reason and I don't even know why. I tried to focus back on my painting but my phone kept ringing.

I got up and took a deep breath then grabbed my phone.

0915-XXXX-XXX-XX

It flashed on the screen. I was about to answer it not until it stopped ringing. I shrugged and went back to my painting.

Hours passed, and I was done and I just realized I only got 2 days to finish two more large paintings. I'm not sure if I could survive those two days left that meant no sleeping and no eating for too long. As i think of these things I rested my back against the wall and crossed my arms. To be honest, ever since I've left Lexington, I only felt lonely every single day.

Every single day.
