Part 39

My mum left as quick as she came. Ok. Maybe that’s a lie. I couldn’t get rid of her, she wouldn’t leave. She kept gushing over how well I’d done for myself. Once she found out I was pregnant, well, let’s just say I’m surprised the neighbors didn’t call the police for murder after how loud she screamed. Excited? Doesn’t cover it. Once I’d finally got rid of her, I collapsed on the couch beside Aston. 

"Well, that was something." I laughed resting my head on his shoulder.

"She’s… enthusiastic?" he said, making it sound more like a question.

"Oh don’t worry, I know exactly what she’s like, she’s hard to keep up with." I giggled.

"Hmm, she just likes to get involved with her kids… a lot." he chuckled.

"Yeah, a bit more that I'd like." I laughed standing up.

"Where're you going?" Aston asked.

"I don't know, wanna watch a movie?" I asked.

"Yeah, sure, you put one on and I'll go get some snacks." he smiled, standing up and heading to the kitchen. I chose a movie and put it in before quickly running up the stairs to grab a blanket. 

"It feels like all we do is watch movie's." I laughed once the movie started.

"Hmm, I know what you mean, but it's not like you can do much considering you're pregnant." he smiled, wrapping his arms around my waist and resting them on my stomach.

“Sucks to be me,” I said, snuggling into him. "Can we order take out?"

"Yeah, sure, what do you want?" he asked, reaching over me to get his phone.

"Hmm, I'm not sure.."

"How about pizza?"

"Ok, pizza it is." I smiled..

"I'm just heading out." I said, leaning over the couch to plant a kiss on Aston's cheek.

"Ok babe, where you going?" he asked.

"Just to the cemetery, I'll be back soon."

"Ah, do you want me to come with you?"

"No. Just stay here, I'll call you if I need anything."

"Ok, love you." he smiled.

"I love you too." I smiled back before turning around and leaving the house.

I needed to go and visit Jake. Fair enough I moved on like he asked but I hadn't been to see him in ages and I felt so guilty. I jumped into my car and drove to the nearest shop before the cemetery. Once i'd got to the shop, I bought a bunch of flowers to put on his grave, I got him the nicest ones I could find, he deserved them. After I got them, I got back in the car and drove the rest of the way to the cemetery. It didn't take long to get there since it was pretty close to the shop anyway. 

"Hi Jake," I said as I sat down in front of the headstone and placed the flowers down in a way that looked more presentable. "I done what you said and I moved on, I found an amazing guy, he's called Aston. I'm pregnant now too! But the thing is, I don't know who's the dad. Ben came after me and, well, he raped me so I don't know who's baby it is but it can't be Ben's, it just can't. Either way, we're saying it's Aston's though. I hope you're having a good time up there, I miss you. We all do. You shouldn't have died like that. I love you Jake, I always will. I don't think anything will change that. I'll come back again soon, I promise. I might even bring the baby after it's born but I don't know yet. I love you." After i'd finished talking to him, I just sat there in silence for a while before finally getting up to leave.
