Part 57

"Even though Alexis hasn't woke up yet, she's making more progress." the doctor smiled, putting her hand on my shoulder.

"Ok, thank you." I smiled up at her. 

I sat there looking at Alexis' face. I knew what I had to do. My mum had Jayden for the day whilst I came to the hospital to sit with Alexis by myself. I jumped up from the chair and ran outside ignoring the looks I got from the people around me and made my way to the best shop I could find... I didn’t care how close or how far it was from the hospital, I had to find the perfect shop that held the perfect item.

I made my way back to the hospital, but Alexis hadn’t made any change. She still hadn’t woken up.

"Has she made any change whilst I was gone?" I asked the doctor who was standing by her side, checking her.

"I'm afraid not, she's still the same as before you left."

"oh.. ok." I sighed and sat back down on the chair beside her.

Marv, Jay, Ori, Cameron, Sophia, Chloe, Rochelle and Emily all came to visit her throughout the day, as well as her parents, brothers and sisters and my parents. My mum and dad had dropped Jayden off to me so I could be with him. I don't know what was wrong with him yesterday but he'd stopped crying now.

I held Alexis' hand in mine as I lay my head on the bed and stared out of the window. Alexis' mum and dad had Jayden again so he didn't have to be in the hospital all the time. She had to wake up. I needed to hear her voice, I needed to look into her eyes again, I needed to tell her I loved her and how much I missed her, I needed her to see Jayden again.. I needed to ask her something. I played with her fingers as I held her hand. I closed my hand around hers completely and squeezed it gently before closing my eyes. 

"Ast?" I heard someone whispers just as I started to drift to sleep. My head shot up and I looked towards Alexis. Her eyes were open slightly and she was looking at me.

"Lexi?" I sat up and pressed the button beside her bed to call for the doctor.

"Where am I? What happened?" she asked, looking around the room.

"You're in hospital, do you remember what happened?" I said, sitting beside her on the edge of the bed.

"The fire.." she trailed off, closing her eyes.

"Hey, it's over now, the police are looking for him, he couldn't have got that far, he'll get caught, I promise you." I smiled, kissing her head.

"I love you." I whispered against her head.

"I love you too." she whispered. The door flew open making me turn around to see the doctor come in.

"Let me just check on her." he smiled. I nodded and got up from the bed.

"Do you want me to get you a drink? Maybe something to eat?" I asked.

"Yes please and could you maybe get me some crisps or something?"

"Of course, i'll be back soon." I smiled, before walking out of the door.

When I returned, the doctor had gone and Alexis was sat up in bed.

"Here you go baby." I smiled, handing her them.

"Thank you," she smiled. "Where's Jayden?"

"Your mum and dad have him, i'll go call them." I kissed her head and got up from my seat to call her parents as well as mine. They all came to the hospital as soon as they could. When they arrived, I took Jayden from Alexis' parents and took him straight over to Alexis.

"Hello baby," she whispered hugging him straight to her chest. "I missed you so, so, so much." she kissed his head before hugging him to her chest again. She looked up at me, a smile on her face. "I love you." she smiled.

"I love you too" I said back, a smile making its way on my face.
