Chapter 25: The Last of Three

Previously on Zack’s POV

‘Jake!’ Nico yelled and the little boy from earlier walked up to us.

‘What?’ he asked.

‘How come monsters are able to come in here if there’s a barrier?’ Nico asked.

‘Well the only way is for the monster to be sent in by someone from the outside that knows someone is here for a fact or knows about this place and its barriers I created. I don’t know why, but that’s just how it is,’ he said then went away.

‘So the main monster knows this place exists?’ I asked and Nico shrugged.

‘I would assume so,’ he said.

‘Both of you, start searching for the book with either three serpents on it or has Medusa’s name on it!’ Jake yelled.

‘Well somebody missed there nap today.’ I grumbled then started searching for the book.

The Last of Three

Leah’s POV

It’s been about two weeks since the last monster is come and I feel uneasy. The clouds are growing darker and there’s always lightning but it never rains. Everyone is pretty much healed but I always have this feeling I’m being watched.

I pulled out my violin and I think about the last time I played it right before I met Nico’s father. I lifted the violin on my left shoulder and readied to play something but I couldn’t. I dropped to my knees and looked at the woods.

‘Kathalina,’ Evianna said from behind me.

‘I know over a million songs on the violin yet I can’t play a thing,’ I whispered.

‘Everything just caught up with you,’ she said and walked next to me.

‘Kathalina, when I was younger I was always felt locked up so I played the Viola.’ She said and sat down.

‘I tried to find something that I could do amazingly so I started playing the Viola. Soon after I started getting good you wanted to play the violin. You picked it up and it was like you’ve been playing it for years.’ She said looking across the lake as we watched lightning danced in the sky.

‘You were praised and I practiced till my right hand bled,’ she said and held her hand out and I traced the dark scars on her hand.
