“Later,Vic!” I heard Mike shout followed by the loud slam of the door. I pulled down the sheets covering me as I squinted my eyes.
Once I opened my eyes, all I saw was an empty room. Obviously, Mike dragged Kellin to go out and swim.
I rolled out from my bed as I grabbed my phone on the little table beside my bed.
From dad: Come meet me and Kellin’s mom. We’re downstairs, eating breakfast.
I sighed as I realized that Mike and Kellin’s having their alone, bonding time right now. I lazily walked towards the bathroom to take a quick shower.
--
“Hope you had enough sleep last night, the weather’s beautiful today. You literally can spend the whole day outside to swim.” Mrs. Quinn happily said as I sat across her and my dad.
To be quite honest, I didn’t get much sleep last night. I pulled up the blanket over my head because Kellin and Mike’s voice was getting on my nerves. They were talking and laughing like there was no tomorrow.
I was munching on my breakfast when I suddenly felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I quickly grabbed it and swiped the screen.
From Mike: Vic, I need your help.
Oh, so now he needs me. Yeah sure. I ignored his text and continued on eating. I once again felt my phone vibrate.
From Mike: Dude, I’m serious! Kellin needs you. Hurry the fuck up!
For a second, I was just staring at my phone with my widened eyes. Kellin needs me? I swear if Mike did something to him, I’ll make him pay.
From Mike: Don’t tell dad and especially his mom. Hurry!
And with that last message, I quickly got up from my sit, still chewing on my food.
“Hey, where are you going?” My dad called out.
“Um, I’ll just, uh, I’ll go and check out on Mike and Kellin.” I quickly said.
I was practically running towards the beach, stumbling and bumping on a few people but I didn’t care. Kellin was in trouble and I wanted to see him as soon as possible.
“Kellin! Mike!” I repeatedly shouted, hoping for them to hear me. I was running and looking everywhere. I could even feel the warm sand burning my feet since I’ve removed my.
“Vic!” I saw Mike from a distance, waving his hands in the air while kneeling beside.. Kellin? Kellin was lying and he looked paler than before. And he looked... lifeless. My heart picked up a very fast rate as I started running even faster towards their direction. They are in the part of the beach where there were not much people. They were actually the only ones in that particular place.
“What the fuck happened?!” I shouted as I knelt down beside Kellin, across Mike.
“We just got here and we were about to go for a swim and he, um, he said that he didn’t want to but I forced him and, um,” Mike was struggling for words and I just wanted to hear the whole story. I didn’t look at him because I was just staring down at Kellin.
“And what?!” I shouted
“I dragged him into the water. I didn’t know that he doesn’t know how to swim.” Mike finally finished.
He doesn’t know how to swim? Why the hell did he agreed on going with Mike for a swim? I knew something bad would happen. He should’ve just agreed on staying with me in the first place.
“Come on Vic. I know you know what to do. Do something!” Mike begged. He’s right. Last summer, my dad signed me up in this first aid camp as a punishment. I know everything about first aid, CPR and the such.
