Night showers are the best kind of showers ever. Every night, I just take a good thirty-minute shower and think about random things. I just stay there under the cold water, just thinking. My mind was happily wandering when I heard a loud knock on the bathroom door.
“WHAT?” I shouted.
“How long are you going to stay there?” Vic shouted back
“I’ll be done in a minute or so.” I said as I washed the remaining shampoo on my hair.
“Okay. Hurry up. I badly needed to go” He said as if he’s been waiting to go inside all his life.
“Don’t rush me. This is in fact my bathroom. I could live here for all I care.” I said with a chuckle. I heard him sigh as I uttered my words.
I then opened the door and saw him sitting on the floor, right next to the bathroom door.
“Why are you in such a rush?” I asked as I looked down on him, curiosity began to flood me.
“I j-just, I just need to use your bathroom.” He stuttered as he got up on his feet. He stood there infront of me, not saying a word. I just stared back at him. I saw this weird emotion in his eyes. Something that I haven’t seen in him a while ago. He looked like he’s..scared? I am not sure for what reason though. I suddenly felt the urge to step closer and just hug him but before I could move, he pushed me out of his way and ran towards the bathroom and slammed the door shut.
I approached the door and knocked. “Hey, um, Vic? Are you okay?”
I didn’t hear him respond. I stood there and quietly moved my ear to the door, listening to what was happening in there, I held that position for five minutes. I once again got curious. I wonder what he’s doing in there.
“VIC?! DON’T TELL ME YOU’RE-“
I heard his footsteps slowly approaching the door. I stepped back and waited for him to open the door. As soon as the door flung open, he ran towards me and attacked me with a hug. I was frozen for a minute. I didn’t know what to do. My eyes were wide open and I got confused. His head was buried on my shoulder and I could feel him shake.
“V-vic?” I stuttered as I wrapped my arms around him and awkwardly patted his back.
Right when I was about to speak, I felt cold drops of liquid on my shoulder. Is he crying? I was stuck in this position with this stranger that I just met a while ago and he’s sobbing on my shoulder, in my room. And let me just remind you, I haven’t put on any clothes yet, I mean I just got out from the shower.
After a few more minutes, I felt his arms loosen up and he took a few steps away from me and quickly wiped his tears. I was just staring at him the whole time. We’re still standing in the middle of the room. I could hear his breath hitch as he rubbed his eyes. I can’t help but to smile at him. He looked so adorable. But I had to push these thoughts away as he looked at me.
“I’m s-sorry.” He said with sadness all over his brown eyes.
I took a step closer to him and placed a hand on his shoulder to comfort him.
“Hey, it’s okay. Mind telling me what’s wrong?” I asked as I held his wrist and walked him towards the bed and motioned him to sit.
I looked down to myself and saw that I was still half naked. I quickly jogged towards my drawer and looked for my comfortable sweatpants and a cozy shirt. I then threw my shirt above my head and I kind of struggled pulling up my sweatpants.
“Okay. Sorry ‘bout that. So, what’s up?” I asked as I sat beside Vic.
“THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!” Vic snapped as he stood in front of me with his hands clenched to fists. His emotion quickly changed to anger and disappointment.
