I opened the front door to see a sobbing Jessica. "What's wrong? What happened?" I asked as we pulled her in. she sobbed into my shoulder and said, "X-x Xavier" "Xavier did what?" Scarlett asked. "He he slept with Emily." I and Scarlett dropped our mouths. "What?!" We both asked. "I was waiting for him outside my house because we were supposed to go out tonight. He didn't show so I went inside and called him, but Emily picked up the phone basically telling me that that fucked and he was breaking up with me." She let out a loud sob and curled up into a ball next to the door.

We brought her up to Scarlett's room and made her sit on the bed. I rubbed her shoulder and said, "Everything is gonna be okay" She shook her head, "I shouldn't have went out with him. I knew he was a player and I thought I could make hi change, but I couldn't." Scarlett handed her a tissue, "Sometimes people don't wanna change. They have to want to in order to do it." 

I looked at Jessica's arm, there were bruises. "What happened?" I asked. "What?" she replied. "To your arm. Who did this to you?" She covered up her arm, "It's nothing”. I didn't buy it. "Tell me “I said. "My uh...dad did this." My eyes grew big. Why the hell did he do that? The only time I saw him get mad was when he lost at Scrabble. "Why?" I asked. She shook her head. "What the fuck Jessica! TELL ME!" I shouted. She flinched but answered, "I don't know, when he gets drunk he does this to me and my mom doesn't care enough to stop it!" She screamed/wailed.

I hugged her tight. "I was living with uh Emily for a while but for the last week I was back at my house because uh, my dad dragged me back one night while he was drunk. My stuff is still over there but I really do not know how to get it back. I really don't wanna set foot in her house, especially her room." A look of disgust spread across her face. Scarlett shook my head, "Goddammit! we have to call the police!" Jessica and I looked at each other, and then at her. "Uh hello? I've been abused before by two people! Calling the fuzz ain't gonna do shit! You'll just piss him off more!" Jessica nodded in agreement.

"Do you wanna stay over here for the night?" Scarlett asked. Jessica shook her head, "No, I'll get killed...Literally. I guess I'll leave then, but you both have to promise NOT to tell ANYBODY!" "I promise" Scarlett and I said in unison. She waved goodbye and headed downstairs and out the front door. I didn't have a good feeling about this.

Jessica's POV

I parked in front of my house and unlocked the door. "THERE'S THE SON OF A BITCH!" my dad screamed. He stumbled over to me, drunk as usual, and slammed the front door shut. "Dad you're drunk" I said. "SHUT THE FUCK UP!" He slammed me against the wall. "OW!" I screamed. He slapped me in the face and threw me on the glass coffee table, shattering it. "WHERE DID YOU GO MISSY?" He asked, spitting on my face while he talked. "I-I was at a friend’s" I stuttered.

"Did I say you could go over there?" He asked. I looked at him not saying a word. He pushed me into the table. "ANSWER ME!!" "NO!" I screamed. He picked me up and carried me up to my room. "AHH!!" I yelled, "HELP ME!!" He slammed my head against the wall. "SHUT THE FUCK UP!" He punched me in the face repeatedly until I blacked out.

Xavier's POV

I laid next to Emily. She was by far the best I had ever gotten. I would have to keep her around for a while. My phone rang and she picked it. "Hello?" She said. I knew it was Jessica, but I didn't care. When Emily told her I was breaking up with her, I felt a pang of guilt but I shook it off. Who needed her?

I got up and dressed myself. "Where are you going?" She asked. "Home" I replied, not bothering to look at her. I took my phone and keys. "Keep the shirt" I gestured to the one she was wearing. I didn't really like that shirt anyways. I headed out the front door and started the car. She waved at me from her window. I didn't bother to wave back. Like I said, I didn't care.
