Chapter 52 - Escargot
Comfy beds and the french air literally knocked me out. I slept like a baby for 12 hours straight.
I wasn't the only one either, all of my friends slept as much as I did. How do I know? Well, I'm the only one awake in my room right now so I just go outside to the living space of the penthouse.
"Wow finally someone woke up" I hear a voice say from the kitchen. Upon closer inspection I saw that it was Quinn. I don't know why I actually had to see if it was Quinn, it's not like there's any other male living with us.
"Would it bother you to wear pants" I say, looking at his black boxers.
"Yes, why do you ask?" he asks.
"You're impossible I say while sitting on the sofa far away from him. Behind me Quinn goes upstairs, I take this chance to stand up and look around. the windows call to me so I go to them.
Moving the curtains I see the view from the penthouse for the first time. It's beautiful, wow. Paris is a beautiful city but the angle in which I am looking at it from emphasizes its beauty. (picture on the side).
After admiring Paris' beauty I decide to take a seat of the sofa again to watch some tv. I grab the remote and turn the tv on. I understand nothing, so I make it my mission to find something that I want to watch. After minutes and minutes of searching I finally find a channel which is airing Kill Me Heal Me.
"Yes" I say internally, Kill Me Heal Me is my favourite show. Even thought the subtitles were in French I still understood everything that was happening.
"What the heck are you watching" a now Quinn wearing shorts asks.
"The best show ever" I say like it's the most obvious answer ever.
"Do you even understand they're saying"
"Duh, it's so easy so you see him he has like different personalities with different names...... the red tattoo.......and then there's the girl who's like hilarious..........and then the brother......and like......this.........and" I kept talking.
"It ended" he says looking at the tv.
"Wait what it just started when I turned the tv on, and an episode is one hour long" I say.
"Yea, you've been explaining that show to me for an hour straight, I feel like I can remake the whole series if I wanted to right here and right now" he says.
Wow, I didn't notice I spoke for that much, must have been the French air.
"Oh I missed it" I say sadly. And then I hear it, the intro to the drama "Yess, another episode" I say doing a little happy dance while Quinn laughs at me.
Halfway through the episode, I could clearly tell that Quinn was also hooked on the drama. He kept laughing at all the jokes and especially when the main character became the girl.
"Whatcha doing?" Isabelle oh wait sorry Preet asks.
"Watching tv" I say keeping my eyes glued on the tv.
"Aren't you hungry" she asks. Then I finally notice the rumbling that has been sounding in my stomach for the last twenty minutes, but I decided to ignore it because Kill Me Heal Me > Food, it's as simple as that.
"Let's eat after this episode ends" I say, checking when the episode will end. Only five minutes, I can obviously survive five more minutes without food.
I finish the episode and decide to wake Indra and Kayla up.
"WAKE UP!" I scream. This makes them stir, after a lot of hesitation they finally wake up and get ready for brunch.
After getting ready we all walk outside and into the french air, because the french air has something special in it, because it's french, because...
We order our breakfast which was fully French, I made a goal for myself to try as many new foods as I could on this European trip.
"So it's not really appropriate for breakfast or even brunch but i ordered escargot" Quinn says.
"Escargot?" I say not wanting to eat snails in the morning.
"You know they're snails" Preet tells me like I was a child. I laugh.
"I know, it's just why for breakfast?" I pout.
"Because they're delicious, that's the one and only reason that is needed to prove my point" Quinn debates.
"Whatever, he already ordered it Jasmine we can just try it" Kayla says. I don't respond.
When the food arrived everything expect for the escargot looked appetizing.
"All of you try it at the same time" Quinn says and we agree.
We all take one shell and get ready to eat it. We take those fancy fork things and take the actual 'meat' out and countdown
"3..
2...
..1" we say and eat the french delicacy.
"Ew ew ew" Alexis says spitting it out. Soon followed by Indra and Kayla.
"Do yo actually not like it?" I ask "This is actually good, like really good" I say taking another one.
"Oh yea... how could you not like it, it's soo good" Preet says coughing into a napkin.
"I know, I don't understand why the three of you don't like it." says Quinn "I guess now I have my favourite two girls" Quinn jokes while Alexis pouts.
I keep eating my share of snail just like Preet, but for some reason Preet kept laughing into her napkin every time she would eat an escargot. But, I decided to ignore the action.
Quinn, Preet and I finish the 15 pieces of escargot. Quinn eating 7 while Preet and I eating 4 each.
After eating we throw away our garbage, me having no garbage because I ate the escargot while Preet for some reason three away four pieces of napkins.
